Nice work so far. I'm going to have to change the way I hold the stick for this one. Everytime I get going good, I bump the start button. :(

I'm still right around where I usually score on arcade conversions of Pacman games.

Just for fun, I played the A8 cart of this one a little today. The few tweaks made for the 5200 version are obvious. Sprite graphics were touched up a little and ghost AI is very different. Given my skill-set to be the same on both ports, I did get further on A8, but scored much less.

I can't help but notice that 5200 Pac-Man is much harder than most other versions. I can break 30,000 without much trouble on my 8-bit machine, but I was lucky to even get 25,000 here.

There are a couple of versions of Atari's Pac-man for the 8-bit once is much easier than the other ;)

Hmmm. How can you tell the difference between versions? I've got the old 400/800 cart and I get further than on 5200, but score much less. :ponder:

I can distinguish the Millipede versions because I have both, but not sure on Pacman.

There is some discussion from when we played it last season here, checkout the first post, also see here post 6 :)

I wouldn't say that, you're currently in 2nd place with that score for now. :ponder:

BTW Gents(and others) ;) , Round 13 poll is up and running and I started it a day early so "More votes and less excuses!" :P

We now return to your regularly scheduled gaming. :)

^Agreed^. Anything over 20k is actually quite good if using stock controls IMO.

27k is actually right in the middle currently. We have players of almost all skill levels and intensity so the only "bad" score is the one not submitted.

Personally, I play for my own personal bests and achievements. Competing against others is secondary, but fun.
