toptenmaterial
I have always wanted to get a Galaga machine (or the Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man combo). What's a fair price to pay for one of these, either the stand-up kind or table top? Did you guys ever buy off ebay? This isn't a want ad, but more a dream for the future.... keilbaca
The combination machines are still going for a good bit, because they're updated hardware, and they're still being cycled through arcades. It would be cheaper to get a dedicated cab of each one. For a nice conditioned Ms. Pac, you're looking at $600 to $800. Not sure with Galaga. toptenmaterial
Thanks. I thought of the combo cab first because it is the only stand-up version of Galaga that I've played. I have seen Galaga on it's own as a table top, still pretty cool but just doesn't command the same prowess in my humble opinion.
VectorGamer
If you're talking about the Reunion cab, I've seen them anywhere from $800 to $1200. Consider that you could get a 60-in-1 board which have both games

At least he doesn't smoke cigarettes. Rob, I took a look at your extensive collection of machines online. I bet all of the neighborhood kids must want to play over there! Now here is something I'm wondering: have you guys ever bought cabs online or off ebay? Ever had them shipped to you? If so, I'm wondering how it worked out- in terms of both the quality of the product, and coordinating a shipping time to be there when it arrives. Everything was picked up in my mini-van. The farthest I've traveled was 3 hours and that was for that Monaco GP cabinet. It's a one of a kind and the most played cabinet at my Retrocade parties. Also, my cabinets were purchased at auction, eBay and off of Craigslist. Edited July 27, 2011 by rmaerz
Brian O
I bought a refurbed Ms. Pac-Man / Galaga a couple of years ago for ~ $1200. You can unlock the original Pac-Man, too -B

I bought a Space Invaders cab on eBay from a seller in GA (I'm in NY). The shipping company delivered it to my house within a six hour window (the driver called me at work - I live about 20-25 minutes from home) and wheeled it up into my garage. No problems or damage incurred in shipping.

I have never once seen one below $1000 in the Portland metro area. Portland coin op., Mountain coin, and all the other small time sellers list this $1200 and UP and I mean WAY up. I think if you could get one under a thousand dollars you have done well.
SEgamer
Sometimes these games pop up for pretty cheap on craigslist where I live. Most are what people have said, around the $1k range, but if there's a bunch on craigslist in your area, you could wait until a deal shows up. I've also seen a few cocktail versions of each game selling for a lot less than the cabinet version.
Melissa Melville
If you get the upright reunion you are looking at $800-1,000. I could have sold you a cocktail two weeks ago on the cheap. It may be cheaper to just find a cheap Midway style cab, throw a Jamma adapter in there and buy a board.
