Hey gang, I'm new on here though I've already met some cool people.
Have been collecting for about 12 years but just found this forum recently, had an Intelly when I was a kid, fond memories...

Been encouraged to post pics of my collection.
I don't have most of the super expensive rare games but I do have a few, and lots of hardware,
including 16 different CIB system variations, American, Canadian, British, Bandai, Digiplay etc,
as well as older versions that mention the ill-fated keyboard component then others that mysteriously don't mention it. :-o

One weird version I don't even know what the deal is I've posted pics here too,
it's a plain cardboard box with a huge sticker on the front,
for "The Exciting Intellivision"

There's no mention of the keyboard so it's not that old, but it's from the era where Hockey, Auto racing, Horse Racing and Word Fun had just been released. It says Checkers not Draughts so it's not British.
The system inside looks like a standard Intellivision one though I have no way of knowing
if that was the system originally in the box.

Any idea what this one is?

Also I can post more pics of the other systems if people want, some of the boxes are fairly beat up though
Cheers, Steve

Nice collection Steve !

I did notice something that i had not seen before, your Sylvania box shows NFL as a pack in.. hmmm ... I thought only the early Mattel Cali releases had that .. I'm cmart has a few dozen to compare it to :P

As for the stickered box, I just seen one on Shopgoodwill.com not to long ago.. didn't think much about it, guess I should have went for it

Yeah although the Sylvania one has Football in the tv screen on the box, on the front is a sticker that says the free game is good old Poker & Blackjack

Yep, those are the only two versions of the boxes that I can recall mentioning the NFL as a pack in. I think that Sylvania/GTE box might actually be the rarest of the ten versions of the INTV that were released.

Ok since you asked...
these are in what I think is chronological order of release

This is the oldest American one I have, notice they are pushing the keyboard component
the original box art has NFL Football as the free game but the sticker says Poker & Blackjack instead, BURN!
01 INTV1 FOOTBALL KB FRONT.jpg
01A INTV1 FOOTBALL KB BACK.jpg

The somewhat rare Sylvania version, I believe there was some kind of deal if you bought a Sylvania television,
still pushing the keyboard and still swapping the Football for Poker & BJ
02 Sylvania FOOTBALL KB FRONT.jpg
02a SylvaniaFOOTBALL KB BACK.jpg

Now they've updated the box art to show Poker & BJ, still promising that keyboard though
03 INTV1 POKER KB FRONT.jpg
03A INTV1 POKER KB BACK.jpg

My weird cheapo sticker on plain box version, chronologically I think it comes here

IMG_1158.JPG
IMG_1157.JPG
Strange that "Mattel Electronics" was replaced with "The Exciting" wonder if they were in panic mode?
A thought just occurred to me, perhaps these were just temporary until they had time to print the next version which had a major difference...??

Oh wait a minute, keyboard? what keyboard? we didn't say anything about a keyboard did we?
04 INTV1 POKER NO KB Front.jpg
04a INTV1 POKER NO KB back.jpg

Canadian version, this is the one I remember as a kid
05 INTV1 Canadian Front.jpg
05a INTV1 Canadian back.jpg

gotta keep it bilingual here

British Version, notice bottom left Draughts instead of Checkers and Soccer pictured on the screen, not sure if it was the free game?
06 INTV1 British Front.jpg 06a INTV1 British back.jpg

Some of the other manufacturers now, the Sears version which I always thought was a bit ugly, where's the fake wood-grain Sears?
I hate to think what station wagons would have looked like if Sears made them in the 70s without wood grain panels.
07 Sears Front.jpg
07a Sears back.jpg

Radio Shack's Tandyvision version, not sure if there is an older Tandyvision box since this is the newer slightly smaller box with loads of games.
08 Tandyvision Front.jpg
08aTandyvision back.jpg

and to my knowledge the final boxes for Intellivision 1,
IMG_1166.JPG
IMG_1164.JPG

North American on top, European (Italian to be precise) on the bottom, the European one has swapped some of the small game pics on front for IMHO better games,
Star Stike for Math Fun, Space Armada for Poker & BJ, Astrosmash for Word Fun, Snafu for I'm not sure and the one above Bowling is different though it looks similar, perhaps the same game?
Maybe the educational games didn't translate to other languages so they weren't promoted as much?

The Brazilian Digiplay version 1, game shown is Soccer though according to the sticker you got Triple Action instead
11 Digiplay Front.jpg
11a Digiplay top.jpg

The Japanese Bandai
12 Bandai Front.jpg
12a Bandai back.jpg
weirdly the back shows Auto Racing as being part of the Action Network and Sea Battle as part of the Strategy network
and the front shows the early mockup art for AD&D that was also in pamphlets before it was released.

Then came the Intellivision 2, a couple of variants here, the second promoting all the add on components
13 14 INTV2 Front.jpg
13A 14 INTV2 back.jpg

And then after Mattel sold the rights to INTV came the INTV System III,
perhaps trying to confuse people with the more advanced System 3 that had been in development before Mattel bailed?
15 INTV3 Front.jpg
15a INTV3 back.jpg
not a lot of effort on the back, trying to do things on the cheap at this point

and finally the Super Pro System (joysticks sold separately but pictured on the box)
16 Super Pro Front.jpg
16a Super Pro back.jpg
the back was a chance to promote the new games

That's all I have, I know Digiplay did a version of the INTV2 but I don't have one, other people on here do.
Anyone else have any other variations please post them
Cheers, Steve

Nice collection and the Australian version is the same as the European version apart from the "GS" logo which is not printed on the box in the top left corner of the front.

LOL! I just spent the last hour putting together essentially the same pics!!!! :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: I'm an idiot. Seriously! For now I'll just add the tenth of the original ten released versions of the system itself. I think I'll set up a separate CIB hardware thread with all my variations at a later date.

The Digiplay 2, which came with Pitfall, making it and Triple Action, which came with the Digimed Intellivision, the two most common Digiplay games. Ironically, Poker and Blackjack is one of the rarest.

By the way, I was going to rank them for rarity's sake, for what it's worth, here's my thoughts.

10. Mattel Intellivision Console - the first version, came in many boxes, large and small (there are UK, Australian, Italian, German and French versions, in addition to many US variations and the French Cdn bilingual one)

  9. Mattel Intellivision II Console - again, many box variations, with four different pack ins I can think of, and at least 7 boxes I know of, including two Cdn

  8. INTV System III Console - usually pretty easy to find, no pack in game (also, a UK/Australian PAL version of the box exists, I got one by accident)

  7. Sears Super Pro Video Arcade - tough to find in mint shape, Rev should trade me his for one of mine plus some extras thrown in by me. Just sayin.

  6. Tandyvision One - My personal favourite console. Sweet dark woodgrain goodness! Another tough box to find in great shape, none of mine are mint. I would pay handsomely for a mint one.

  5. INTV Super Pro System - Probably the best looking box of them all, with maybe two competitors to follow.

  4. Bandai Intellivision Console - this one used to be my Holy Grail for the Intellivision and is one of my other favourite boxes. Not impossible to find, you just have to be willing to spend a bit.

  3. Digimed Intellivision - impossible to find in great shape. Thinner cardboard than the rest, just doesn't hold up well. Very cool though. Triple Action was the pack in, making it the most common Digimed/Digiplay game along with Pitfall

  2. Digiplay Intellivision II - very hard to find although it tends to hold up better than the Digi One. Fantastic box, rounding out me top three best looking boxes.

  1. Sylvania/GTE Intellivision Console - seriously, this is hard to find. I only got mine a year or so ago and paid more than $200 for it, but I had a max bid of over $700 because I wanted this so bad. LOL!

This was part of what my thread was going to say. Holy crap that's funny.

True, you weren't but to be following the tread and the amount of awesome information that yourself and Steve put out in a short amount of time was incredible, and ol' Clark came directly to mind after reading your last post ;)

What is your though on the sticker box of Steve's being a INTV Corp hybrid with the Mattel Electronics being replaced with the "Exciting" ? Selling off old stock ?

Yah, the INTV Corp overstock makes the most sense I guess. As goofy as it looks, man, there can't be many of these I'd say. As absurd as it is, it might be the rarest box variation. Maybe someone could ask Keith on the Intellivision birthday website?

Nice visual history of the boxes, Steve!  So NFL Football was never a pack-in?  I have a vague memory of reading something that said it was, for a brief time.

I think it was at the very beginning then they switched to Poker & BJ
and they probably just used stickers on the Football Boxes until they used up the ones they already had printed.

Probably realized more people would pay for the Football game than the Poker so why give it away?

Loose, but in nice condition. I was broker than broke that week or it would have been mine. Got a feeling its one of those decisions I will regret for awhile though. :(

That would have been a good deal at $30. Typically they can go for at least $50 loose, as high as $100. CIB, who knows?

Great looking collection Pascal! You have some nice games there. I'm guessing you have both variations and extra copies for some of those? I'm pretty sure there's not three versions of River Raid for example.

Is that three copies of the black and red French catalogue? Is it the same one three times or are they different?

Looks like you have some nice CBS/Coleco variations as well.

Thanks for posting your pics.

Thank you very much Cmart.

Yes, I have variations and extra copies.

I have 3 copies of River Raid, same version.

For the black and red French catalogue, same, I have 3 copies. There are not different :) Do you have a version of it ? Do you want me to take pictures ?

About CBS/Coleco games, I have to check my games, unfortunately, lot of them are in a very bad condition.

I would like to manage better my collection. I really really don't know what is the better solution. If you have one, don't hesitate to share :)

You have tons of great titles there.  Is that Intellivoice rebate cheque one that you sent away for yourself, or did you acquire it after the fact? I'd be interested in trading you some Intellivision games for it if you'd like. :)

I acquired it in a trade. I think it might have been a relative to the person. It was local and the person's address on the cheque was local also.

I have been trying to find more information on these rebates. What sizes the cheque's came in?

If I do part with it cmart604 you have been the first to ask. So that puts you at the top of the list and thanks for the quick response.

I was surprised Atari Age was so diversified to have a solid Intellivsion group. If I had known I would have posted years ago.

Thanks again!

From what I've seen they just came as $5 cheques. If you choose to part with it I'm fairly certain I could come up with some Intellivision trade options for you. :-D

As you've noticed, this is probably the biggest group of INTV fans on the interwebs.
