It's been a great season and I hate to end it, but the new one is just around the corner. February 5th will begin season 5 and hopefully the great play will continue. 'Till then... Play on default starting level. pics preferred, but not required. Emulation is fine as is whatever control scheme you wish. Round ends Sunday 9pm EST January 15th 2012 Current HSC record. It's very addicting ! My only question is when and how is that time bomb thingy used ? I've killed myself by accident with it. Sonic R Posted January 2, 2012 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I've never been great at Qix.. I prefer (and LOVE) Volfied/Ultimate Qix.... I can really score it up in those games! It is either incredibly rewarding, or infuriating, depending on if you cash-in with a leveled-up split-Qix multiplier, or if you blow it by getting a small % completion (or if you die before you cash-in your points, argh!). I think you're referring to the "fuse". It appears if you stop moving on a line that you are creating. You have to start moving before it gets you. You're talkin' the talk, BountyBob ... lesse you walk the walk! thought this would be a doddle as I've had 600K on the A8 ver... ok after two sessions and about 20 goes I failed will play again tonight I used to like this ver better, but now I like the A8 ver better - the Stix? Qix seems much slower on the 5200 ver to me.... less menacing.. +Cafeman Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) The hardest thing about the game, to me, is to finish a level with a high % and a high multiplier. It just seems like the 2 Stix Qix know what I'm up to and they don't want to get sealed into a narrow box together. Then the sparx start zipping around, quarters get too close for comfort and you get zapped. Its easier to split them over & over, but there's no points in that. *EDIT - I just noticed that back in the '09 round of Qix, Darthkur trounced my highest score (its the current High Score). maybe I'll find time to beat it!
