How could I have left out Star Raiders, Defender, and Robotron: 2084? The ability to stand still and fire with one controller, the explosions, and the sound are advantages over the 7800 version (which is really good).

FYI, the 7800 also allows you to play Robotron with either one or two controllers.

Mitch

You cannot stand still and fire with one controller in the 7800 version; you can with the 5200 version.

I perfer the XEGS. I can play the same exact games as the 5200 but in a nice small cartridge and I get a keyboard. Still I need one to complete my Atari console collection.

I bet you could gut the XEGS and put it inside the 5200.

The XEGS would fit inside a 5200 without gutting it. Like a Carrying case...

i think my love for the system comes from the " Non-Emulatable" experience

i mean , if i don't wan't to set up my 2600, 8bit or 7800 i can have a quick fix on the wii with their original controllers and perfect emulation
but it can't  be done with the supersystem

I love the 5200 trak ball. Centipede and Missile Command with the trak ball on 5200 are as close to the arcade as you are going to get.
