Hahahah, can't believe you actually included this one. I've gotten some really high scores on it in the past. Anyway, the gold nuggets are very difficult to nab, I don't know if I can really explain how it's even done. Takes quick and very accurate timing, that's all I can say.

Ok...
My starting score:
Vocelli ~ 5995 ~
Right now I am 50% getting the nuggets and 50% deciding if I even want to try when I see it.
See ya' on the river.

Excitement would not be the word I would use. I think the people that say "E.T. is the worst game EVER" have clearly never played this one.

I had a good run earlier but had to walk away from the machine. I was at 11k with 3 rafts in reserve and two $$$ bags already! I thought for sure I would be able to beat that. I'm gonna give it one more run before my day starts. Maybe I have time

I really thought I was going to roll it that time! I'd say that score took about 50-60 minuets to get.

Let's talk about this abomination for a sec. I noticed you can't bank any men. When you get to 3 men that's it. You can still get the gold. When you get to 3 bags of gold, nothing happens. The bags just stay on screen. When you die, you loose the bags but keep the 3 men. That's okay with me. Somewhere around 39k something weird happened. I had maxed everything out and I was collecting the gold just for fun. I've never played this game before so I was wanting to see what happened. I guess I had only collected about 5 or so extra gold when I skipped one. I went over the top and when I was past it, I went down. It killed me! I was clearly several pixels away from the gold. Then it happened again right after that on the following rock.

So now I'm back at 2 lives and the game throws 2 impossible combination in a row at me. NOW I'm back at zero men and bags so I tighten my game up. I managed to max everything out again. This time when I maxed everything out, I skipped the bags when I could. I'd say I only collected one extra bag on top of the max. An impossible combination comes up and I'm back at 3 men. Then I lost 2 men trying to collect gold and another along the way. OOPS back on my last man again. When I get going back down the river after my last failed gold collecting scheme, the game gave me ALL white rocks right up the middle. GAME OVER. I didn't get a pic of it since I was trying to get a shot of the score. I forgot it shows the score again during the flashing screen after a game over.

I'd like to roll the game, but I don't know it I can sit through it that long again. It was torture!

Does the game roll at 100,000? I noticed the twin galaxy record is just above 100k.

I would think so. With the score at Twin Galaxies just right above 100k, it looks like the guy rolled it and walked away from it.

I played a little in practice and managed over 10K. It seems that once you get the hang of the controls, the game does not increase in difficulty. Just slow river, fast river, slow river, fast river (ad nauseum...)

I'll post something tonight, but once you know how to pick up the gold nuggets, you can pretty much play forever (or until the game throws impossible rock formations at you.)

Just line up your pole with the flashing gold nugget. If you hit the gold with your pole, you're good. If you pole misses low, you're safe...the gold will pass safely right over you. If you miss high, you're going down with the raft.

That's right. If it got a little faster that would be one thing, but it stays the same mostly.

I played this game a few time last week when it was reveiled as the game this week for the 1st time. Never hit over 2k. Played it last night and got about 4.5k. Then I read the manual this morning and it was a breeze.

As far as lining up the nugget, I use the top corner of the raft to line me up. I play on a smaller TV so the pole confuses me.

Yes, it's possible to roll this game, I've done it, but you have to be very patient, as mentioned above. Takes around 10 minutes per each 10K of points. It goes on forever, it never gets any more difficult. Once you get it down, it's quite easy. I actually purposefully died so I could eat!

Nice score! Yeah, I personally couldn't take it anymore. It's a patience thing when you get the controls down. Not sure I can sit with it to roll it again. I spent a week on this game to figure it out and once I did I rolled it. It's soooo boring eventually, though in a meditative kind of way.
