retroillucid
I'm a huge fan of Defender of the Crown since I was kid I never saw this title mentioned anywhere (as far as I know) as a proposed CV game Am I the only one who think this game MUST be made for Colecovision? In the next weeks, I'm going to show mockups and GFX progess I want this game made for CV and I'm going to make it happen!
retroillucid
I'll also post mockups of one of my favorite game, mainly: Prince of Persia Yep, I want to make Defender of the Crown & Prince of Persia for ColecoVision
youki
Believe it or not , i had started to work on defender of the crown on colecovision 2 year ago!! I put the project on hold for various reasons. Defender of the crown is all about "ambiance" Graphism and Sound , more than strategy in my opinion. I mean if you take the exact same game without graphism sound etc... the game won't be very pleasant. (contrary to game like Kaiser on C64 for instance where the gameplay is in the same spirit but infinitely better ). I managed to create very nice graphism (if i find them back , i will post what i did). But it needed to much graphism to fit in the 32k cartridge. And i didn't want scale down the quality of graphism. (and i want use only 32k for my games , that's a kind of challenge and i want create game that could have been produced in 1982 /1983 ). Secondly , we need very nice music , and i'm very bad at music and two year ago i didn't think about contact Daniel for that. And Third , the 1k of ram i think would been very short for that kind of game if you want handled all parameters. But that using the VRAM i find we can workaround this problem if there is. concerning Prince of Persia , I thought about it also. The Game engine i created for my current game , should be able to handle it with just little modification.
Crapahute
Maybe that's because we are from the same generation, but I thought of these two games myself too. I don't know whether Defender of the Crown could be done, but I think Prince of Persia is possible.
RelliK111
I love Prince of Persia and would love to see it for the Colecovision that would be great! I never play defender of the crown I'll haft to check that out The game I would love to see for the Colecovision and never hear anyone talk about it is Blue Max. I'm not sure if it can be done or not but I would think so. The graphics look like Colecovision graphics to me. I just love that game and still love playing it today. I think it would be a perfect game for JFs new arcade controller since the game has a very arcade feel and could really benefit from the extra buttons
RelliK111
Wow I just checked out a video on you tube and your right that game looks amazing! I don't know if it will fit on the colecovision though http://youtu.be/Af0vFi4sSzw Edited February 7, 2012 by RelliK111
RelliK111
Here is a few videos of Blue Max if you get shot you take damage by loosing you bombs, fuel, guns, ext. You only have one life but can get shot a few times before you die, or you can make it to your hanger you get repaired as long as you don't get blown up by a bomber which is aggravating and stressful. I have never seen that bug that's showed in the video but I also don't try to blow up my hanger If you play the game its super addicting to see how far you can get
ColecoDan
It definately looks cool. I can tell you right now I am the kinda person that would try to blow up my hanger

RelliK111
I remember when I was a kid playing this game you can get so far and you find a city with huge buildings that you can blow up, I was screaming and yelling for everyone to come see how far I got! Just because nobody has seen that part of the game before, it was great! It's really funny thinking back to those golden times of gaming history
+Gemintronic
Maybe target the Coleco ADAM instead? I remember this game came on disks for various platforms as a kid.

Rev
Did you guys know Defender of the Crown has been in development for the Intellivision for 3 or 4 years, but is kind of on hold. That would be cool if it was brought to the Colecovision! Here is a demo of INTV version: http://youtu.be/D0MOB_lQfdc
RelliK111
Well it definitely needs to get made for the Colecovision, I was a little jealous that the intellivision got Donkey Kong Arcade before we did (although ours is going to be soooo much better of course ) so lets make sure we get this one first
Pixelboy
As someone who's never been interested in Defender of the Crown, I just want to say that I would prefer a CV version of Leisure Suit Larry.

Ya holy crap that would be awesome to have on the colecovision! :lust: Someone needs to make a cloning machine(to clone himself) or time travel machine(give him more hours in the day) so JF can get all these games done!
