Lady Bug





You're in control of a hungry Lady Bug.  Using the control, help her traverse a tricky maze, gobbling up small and large dots.  But also in her path are poisonous skulls.  And just when she thinks she's clear, a "bug box" opens and out come ravenous insects!  She can dodge them by passing through turnstile-like doors.  But be quick about it or they'll sneak through and continue tthe chase!  Will the Lady Bug gobble up all the dots and thwart her pursuers, or become a tasty tidbit for them?

Yes, special got turned into a Vegetable garden on the console versions as you can't be awarded a free game (like you did on the arcade machine)

Not sure if this can be counted in the tourney. I'm new here but thought I'd post up my ladybug high score. I just did this on my original colecovision on skill 4. Vegtable garden is a must!

I'm sorry, as much as I thought I was going to bein love with this game, I hate it... I just hate it!!!!  Colecovision, which definitely had the power to do a good arcade port, botched this most definitely...

One, the enemy AI is beyond stupid (now this might just be level 4s AI, but I highly doubt it), as I stood just right of the come out tunnel and the enemy went up and down without ever moving to the right an inch to kill me. Also, it doesn't try to seek out the player, instead being easily trapped by the doors....

Two, the vegetable bonus DOES NOT PLAY THE MUSIC, and the time for the pause of enemies when hitting the VEGETABLE does not time out right.

It's sad when the INTV (also written by Coleco), is written 500,000% better, it's sad but true, I found the one game that Coleco did NOT skimp on when writing for a console other than it's own (DK, DK Jr come leaping to mind)

I really like the INTV version of Lady Bug... played it again, a few days ago.
The gameplay is very challenging and fun with games 3 and 4.

I'm not sure how this one is...
Venture was done pretty well on INTV if a bit on the easy side...

Both versions are pretty good but I like the CV version more.  The vegetable harvest isn't in the INTV version.

The garden is only cause it would be worthless to award a free game (which is what the special on the arcade machine does) (as does the other Universal game -- Mr. Do for the Diamond) INTV did nicely by just removing it from the game, and Coleco decided to do it via the Vegetable Garden. But the lack of the vegetable music is just pure lazy programming by the programmers.

Wow Joe - I really thought you'd be in the final.

Congrats to skosh and cparsley - the final battle is about to begin.  I have selected one of the best arcade ports available for the ColecoVision for the final.  May the best player win!!!!!!

Nothing is in stone with the randomness factor of a Knockout...

I lost in finals of 5200 lost it by (400 points), but my ranking up to that point was around #8th,
so, by ranking I should have lost way sooner.

Also in 7800 finals, a "7800 emulator only" beginner patbb took the whole thing! No previous ranking...
