Why.... it appears to be a heavy 4-switcher!
Here's another picture, to kinda prove that I'm not making this up:


Has anyone else noticed this? Are there any heavy four-switcher Atari's?
Or... did they just simply use the heavy sixer picture and paint out the two other switches?

That's interesting.  I've never seen that before.

I'm inclined to say it's a fake but I can't prove it.

Do you own the actual box? Or where did you see this?

Posted about this a little while ago as I have one of those boxes. IIRC, the consensus was that Atari would use whatever was laying around for their stock photos and that a heavy 4-switch may have been prototyped or they simply got their shells mixed up and never bothered to change it.

I have a bunch of these for sale, $500 each.....

Heavy Six + Desolder 2 switches + Change faceplate = PROFIT!

I should mention they're "as is", but "they worked the last time I tried them"......

Not to mention making the color/bw switch work as the power switch, making the left difficulty operate as color/bw, making right difficulty work as game select and making game select work as game reset.  Oh, then install 2 toggle switches on the back to work as the left and right difficulty.  Sounds like a lot of work.
