Anyone have any unique storage suggestions for 8-Bit cartridges? Did you find that ideal item at The Container Store that cartridges fit into perfectly???

Pics would help!

I put all my games on book shelves. Yes its not as good looking with rows and rows of those "left cartridge" labels looking back at your but I refuse to put labels on the ends of games. As for storing my extras, I have a bunch of those rubbermaid totes in different sizes and I can hold a good bunch of doubles in one of those just fine.

I had a couple of 3.5 and 5.25 floppy holders that work out well at least for now.

Hi,
I use the 5000 count baseball boxes. Someone from atariage showed me these.
They hold exactly 100 carts per box. They sell on Ebay.

Flip 'N File holds 10 carts.

Drawers from the container store hold 3x14 (42) carts.

Bulk carts (32xBASIC, etc...) go in plastic bins from Wal-Mart.

I currently use one flip-in-file for carts myself, I plan to get more as I get more carts. I think both Best E. and B&C carry flip-in-files for carts, disks, and maybe even tape versions.

I should probably just wait for Sloopy to chime in here, but he had suggested once that Velveeta packaging (just the corrugated cardboard lower half (with no labels)) is a pretty good fit for our carts.  On his tip, I did buy a package and he's right.  IIRC they fit about 10 carts.

So, depending on your collection ... you might need to buy a lot of processed cheese for this solution.

Personally, I'll probably go with those baseball card holders.  Nice tip FULS.

Nice idea, I would like to get some too.

I did a quick search and the first place that turned up was much cheaper than eBay though.

At BCW Supplies, you can get 2 x 5000 cnt for: $7.80 (cost for 2) +  $12.92 (shipping to my location) = $20.72 (total)
(It's better to buy two because shipping for one would be $11 for me)

There may be better deals out there too. It is just cardboard. ;)

[Edit: Oddly enough, I just noticed the logo on the one listed on eBay and it says "BCW". So, it is the same product.]

All are pretty good ideas. I'll probably stick with 2 or 3 flip-n-files as I doubt I'll ever get more than 20-30 carts. I'm just restarting my collection and intend to buy only what I know I like and will play. If someone ever gives me hundreds of 8-bit carts I'll get some of the baseball boxes.

I also remembered I had this home-made Atari Jaguar cart case(sold my Jaguar), it fits 15 A8 carts sideways, or about a dozen Atari cassettes or a bit of both.

I'm currently using one big bin for games, and several smaller bins for applications, XE carts, etc. I like the idea of using the baseball card holders. I personally like taking the carts out of the boxes and binning them, I leave a few sealed (duplicates). I ordered plastic bags from Uline 4x6 but would probably get a little smaller next time. They ship 1000.

I thought I'd mention that I got a pair of these boxes after I saw this post.  Cheap, easy, and effective!

I just alphabetized all my carts for the first time. :)

I use a shoe box for my 400/800 carts, which then fits nicely in a drawer or on a shelf.
