It's a Ghosts N' Goblin's inspired platformer.  I played the Apple IIGS version a lot as a kid and it was tough as nails.  I finally picked up a boxed copy and the screenshots on the back are from the Atari ST version so I can only assume it originated on this platform.

Here's my review of it:

I remember this on the ST.  I think we borrowed a friend's copy.  Very hard game.  I think there was one
screen where you could "farm" health and energy from enemies at a higher rate than you depleted them
by fighting.  Doing that I think we got to the last screen, though I can't remember if we finished it.  I hated
the little electrode enemies, weren't they invincible?  I think the game where we saw it was published by
Infogrames and just called "Warlock", not "Warlock's Quest."

I don't know the game but according to Atari Mania it was indeed released under two names.

Warlock's Quest (Ere Informatique/Interceptor Software/Smash 16/EDOS versions):

Warlock (Three-Sixty Pacific/Infogrames):

Then there also unrelated games with similar names: Warlock - The Avenger (Druid sequel) (Millennium / US Gold) and Warlock (The Edge).

Glad I'm not alone.  Yeah, some of the enemies were invincible and many would respawn 2 seconds after you killed them.  The game is brutally hard, but not bad.

OK, not ST, but I have that for my Amiga.
To be honest tho, I haven't tried it yet.

Someone was selling them on e-bay fairly cheap, still sealed...
I'm not a collector or anything.  I intend to play it (think I already opened it to check it out), just haven't yet.

Think I'll fire it up and see...

(Not too encouraged tho, judging by the comments..  I'm not all that good, and "hard" games usually stymie me...)  ;-)

Picked this game up at vcf east, for the C64.

It's really cool. I tried it on the ST from some menu disks but joystick control doesn't work.

I guess its because of my TOS version.

Anyway, requested it get hdd patched with Klaz. Got my fingers crossed. Really like it on C64 and would love to have it on ST.

Dug out the old 1040STFm and put the TOS1.0 chips back in it.
The controls work fine with TOS1.0 With 1.62 No joystick control at all. With 1.04 the players keeps walking right and firing.
So until the patch its TOS1.0 for this one.
It is on Automation menu #70.
If you didnt know DBUG is releasing all the automation disks again. Here is disk #70

Yep, joystick (and some of the sound effects) works with TOS 1.00 and 1.02 only, due to bad coding.
Even the later budget issues of this game that appeared in 1990/1991 didn't fix this.

Klaz has released his patched version of this game. It's really good!
Some trainer options and the screen brightness has been tweaked. Looks great.
Also the usual save states and quit to desktop.
Thank you very, very much Klaz!
