Our sixteenth HSC + Elimination round is Frogger


SETTING: GAME 1 (DEFAULT GAME)
LEFT DIFFICULTY: A(Set the DIFFICULTY switch: A) You'll lose Frogger if he's carried off-screen.
RIGHT DIFFICULTY: N/A


DEADLINE TO PLAY: This round has now begun, it will run a week or until
Sunday, April 22nd 11:59PM EST (EASTERN TIME)
Play with Atari 2600 Console, or Emulation.
Any joystick or keyboard is fine!

Pics are encoraged here, however I WILL accept a no pic score.

Anyone can jump in and play for a High Score and Ranking, if they like...
Every score will be counted for the High Score Challenge also, even if you're not entered
in the Winter 2600 Knockout.

Everyone starts each game with a score of ZERO, one goal is to get above 0... or get a high score, if you don't you will be eliminated and the lowest score earned of the active KO players, is safe! A KING status will be awarded at the end of every round winner, as well as rankings and points. First place gets +15 points! From there on, 1+ less...

For the K.O., you need not win, just not finish LAST! Let the battle begin...

Just one game that you are not good at could KO you.
This is where I try to predict the low score of the week.
But first last week... Kaboom!
Wow, I didn't know I was that good at Kaboom. Go figure. I just discovered this. Good for me!
I was REALLY off on my low score prediction. The worse prediction I have ever made. I predicted 18K but this is what it looked like.
  6,641 - JacobZu7zu7 6th
  4,096 - DT Kofoed 7th
  2,715 - Scrabbler15 8th
So I was way off.
But look at the top scores.
  26,274 - Vocelli 1st
  17,573 - Gorfy 2nd
  11,801 - Jifremok 3rd
Hey I beat everyone. My best showing yet.
Now onward. Frogger ( Difficulty A )
Now everyone has played Frogger at least once. Honestly, I hate the game. I am OK at it but I find it not to be fun. Just me.
Getting over 2K points is good and cracking 3K is GREAT! Playing on Difficulty A makes cracking 3K even harder.
Once those snakes appear I find myself losing my lives quickly.
So I will predict the low score of the week will be 2550. On difficulty B I would say over 3K but on Difficuly A hitting the first hole can be frustrating. Plus, sometimes the Logs don't line up right and I can't even get to the first hole.

I was so afraid I wasn't going to make it through last week.  I kept thinking there were going to be a slew of last minute entries that was going to knock me out.  Kaboom was a rough week.

With a starting score above 3k, you should be able to take it much easier this week, 'Teach!

I've been dreading this game (though not nearly as much as I dread Ms. Pacman) and now it's finally here.  I'll have to work hard to stay in the competition this week.

Here's my first score posting for Frogger:  1,624

I love this game!  One of the best Arcade-VCS ports, IMO. The last 2 times this was played, I was the high score of the week (cracked 4K both times.)  I know this week will be much different.  The competition is fierce and I'm going to have to give it my all so as not to lose my Frogger crown.

I'm surprised Seaquest, Enduro are still up there, 2 great games... unchoosen yet!

Would be funny to see all 3 Activision games, make the final...

My frog is too hyper.  He needs to go to the Keys, find a nice swamp with a comfortable lily pad, and relax a while.  Only then, should he go jumping between the 18-wheelers with all his froggy friends.

Arh, less difficulty more fun plz.. lol.

I made a dumb mistake, tried to dive into one of the safe zones,
and I fell in water, I was an entire log off ! Otherwise I might have cracked 3ks.

My frog needs to lay off the BUD-WEIS-ER and stop hooking up with all them white lady frogs!

He can jump like noones business, but can't swim?!

lol, I know, even worse he "croaks" when he falls in! I mean the water is clear blue...
it's not like he's falling into a toxic pea green soup!

Suddenly I realized what happened last week.

I was knocked out with my 2,296 score !!!   

Sure, I'm not one of the remaining ko players, but that is only due to my late arrival. I play as if I had to win the tournament, not beeing knocked, placing myself higher in the rank as possible and giving all my best.

Sure, my recent acquired paddles didn't arrive, but as Scrabbler I tried many ways to overcome the game challenge. I installed another atari emulator on my android smartphone to try touchscreen controls. Put the mouse upside-down, in order to move a thin wood surface . And in astroblast I posted a video of a nice control that could replace paddles -- I wonder if Scrabbler would have some interest in those controls...

And, in the end, I crossed 2k, raising a little bit the bottom of the mouse leaving only the mouse's nose to lose some grip and move faster. But after that I didn't manage to improve anymore.

Well that is it. I congratulate you, Scrabbler, for knocking me out.
