gameforyourintellivision: Seriously....Rev....what do you think of the quality of the 'cart only' and instructions for DK Arcade?

Since a few of us have started to receive the updated DK Arcade cart release. We can post our impressions in here. I started playing mine today and will play more tonight. So far it is great...and so was the Donkey Kong Arcade release by Intelligentvision, maybe we can call this Super Pro DKA. . The voices are nice. Nice label, Instructions are cool. I will try to upload a gameplay to YT soon.

Also post your high score of DK Arcade. (both versions. Elektrolite or Intelligentvision...just specify!!!)

Love the gameplay, and the digitized sounds, and I am one of the "lucky" ones that has to use the 30 FPS mode on my Vizio... but I am grateful its there !! :D

And Rev - hi score competition ? 22300 in my first day, and that's with Bruno :)

Yeah, we should use this as an 'unofficial high score competition' thread as well. snap a pic of your next high score and I will too..or if its too much trouble just tell us. :P

Don't worry about the 30 FPS mode… The graphics are still being updated as fast as your TV will allow… It's just that there is going to be more flicker for objects that multiplex… But much better than been disappearing altogether! ;-)

Don't forget to specify Game 1 or Game 2 when listing your high score… And of course, the character you played as. :-)

And preferably, call it D1K to differentiate it from the original intelligentvision release
.

Wow, Outlaw! I am sorry to hear that you had to 30fps it. It works fine on my HD TV......I wonder how many people will hit that strange television problem.

Nice score, I wonder if I should try to beat it…? Which character did you use to obtain that score?

Also, Carl. great job on updating the graphics. It makes all the difference not having to look at the $#!tty Coleco version of Mario.

Nice......

I'm pretty sure it was your son that got this score, not you. I'm fairly certain you lost to a two year old child. :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Here we go, with my humble high score.

As for the game, it shocked me into wakefulness immediately. This is HARD... but fair. You have to keep your wits about you and try to watch the whole screen at once. The timing on the screen where DK throws girders seems a bit random to get up the final ladder, but I am still in an adjustment period.

Toni's the most fun to play with for me, since his speed fits in with the difficulty of the game in general.

This is EXTREMELY well done; I think this is the best of the home console versions now.

Great score !! I thought the same about the girders as well.. Also the AI on the fire seems a little too good sometimes .. ;)

Are you using the 30 FPS mode ?
