Toki was always one of my favorite Atari Lynx games.
Looks like it's getting remastered for Xbox Live later
this year.

Developer website shows graphic comparisons to the
original arcade version, but this still brings back fond
memories of the impressive Lynx version of this game:

OMG!  This game looks beautiful!  I'm not sure how well the gameplay will hold up to today's age...  It looks like they're trying to keep the gameplay logic intact and just putting new graphics to it.

I loved the Lynx version back in the day.  Probably the best home conversion and hard as hell!!!!

This is very cool. Toki looked amazing on the Lynx, My only complaint: way too difficult for someone with no memory.

Holy crap I remember reading something about this like four years ago. Glad/amazed to hear it's not been cancelled yet.

Hunh.  I just recently picked up the arcade board.  I've always liked the game, the Lynx version is very good, but I just don't know if the gameplay will hold up with a modern audience at all.  You pretty much have to accept the fact you need to memorize it all to get anywhere...  I was just thinking the other day that if I didn't look at the arcade game with such rose colored glasses, I would think it was complete crap.

I'm floored that anyone decided to remake this.  Hope it does well though, I'll buy it if given the chance!

Toki is one of my fave Lynx games. Fantastic news this is being remade. It looks really nice and sounds great too. I'll definately buy this when it's ready for download.

Nice! It's not often that I am excited about XBLA releases these days. This is one I will pick up, provided it's no more than $10. Never gave the Lynx version much time, but I have it on the Genesis and it's pretty good, albeit very challenging on later stages (even cheap?).

I'd break my no digital content rule for this.

Ugh, probably my least favorite game on ANY platform. It feels like work to play Toki, you basically die hundreds of times until the pattern is burned in your retnas so you can get a little further....then repeat that process forever....then throw your controller and go home.

If not for the fact that I played it on my first Lynx as a lad so many times, that it may actually trump other activities done by hand of that same time period, I would agree it can be an irritating game. I'm just so fond of it.

It's tough, but it's not that bad. On the Genesis version, I think I got to the third boss on my second try.

I got excited about this game but apparently it's in developmental hell.  Go to the site.  That video is like a year old and there's no definitive release date.  :(

Well, I'm going from 20+ year old memories here so I might be wrong....If I end up with one in a lot purchase again someday instead of my usual "immediately place in trash bin" reaction I will play it again and then go kick my cat out of frusteration ;)

They're aiming for a September release on Steam (stream?) and Jan for other platforfms.

*gasp* I went back to the site and the video is from 2009!  this game would've been on the level of Duke Nuke'em if it had the same level of publicity...

Isn't that a different game, anyways?  I remember the Genesis version copying the first stage pretty well, but the rest of 'em being new designs.

I put an assload of quarters in Toki back in the day and this looks great! Just need a 360.
