Atari 2600 woody video output without cart

Is this normal video output for an Atari 2600 4 switch woody with no cart plugged in? http://imgur.com/a/cTU3C#0

Sometimes it also outputs a black screen.

2600 has no internal BIOS so TIA doesn't get initialised and could have random stuff in the registers, so it's normal.

Thanks. Sadly, I can't get this one to boot a cart. I cleaned the connectors and the carts work on my Jrs, so I guess it's something more serious.

I think the RIOT chip is damaged. I had similar symptoms when it was bad in my 4-switcher.
Back to Atari 2600
