Car Tuning and Retro Computing

8-bit atari wise a bit off topic but...

By accident I have been last weekend to one of Europes largest Car Tuning festivals in South Germany (Tuning World Bodensee, http://www.tuningworldbodensee.de/). There I saw many polished Mercedes, Audi and luxurious tuned italian cars and such.

But there were also old cars and theme based presentations. I was very surprised that some guys picked up Retro gaming for their car tuning theme.

First I found a guy who completed fu**ed up an old VW Golf II from the eighties and then built in a fully working Atari VCS with a TV set in the trunk. It was even turned on and ready to play. See the pics:

Not far away another guy pimped also a VW Golf and used a Lego toy theme in combination with Nintendo Retro Gaming (N64).

I am usually not a big fan of car tuning. But the combination Retro-gaming and Car tuning is somewhat charming :)

There was an Opel around which had a 4-switcher w/ CRT TV und CX-40 joystick in its trunk. Maybe I'll find the photo again... It was looking really clean. 8-) A buddy of mine wants to install a 2600 Jr in his car. He hasn't finished the composite mod to do it, though.

I used to have a 2600 Jr. in my car, too. It's fun playing Super Ferrari or Frogger in your car. :D
