Rare ADAM CIBs: Tax Planner, Market Monitor, SimpleCalc

Aside from the above, I think the hardest box to find that I have in my collection was the Digital Data Drive box... it is similar in style to the blue ADAM Computer and Disk Drive boxes. There are two other boxes for hardware and accessory items that I will be absolutely floored to have the good fortune to come across, but I guess in collecting that old saying, "Never say never" applies.

Cool pics! Really Awesome!!

I was really surprised the other night when I saw Market Monitor for sale. I had thought it was a public domain release only.

I purchased a boxed Tax Planner from that seller. It's still in the mail. It's missing the instructions though.

Great collection.

Back in the late 80's, we were given "copies" of Market Monitor and Tax Planner by Shon McCallum of S.M. Video on 5 1/4" disks. At first, I thought these were newly programmed warez by someone in the community that didn't want to be known (especially since they are SmartBASIC programs), but others confirmed that they were indeed Coleco Limitee (Canada) releases. Never saw the boxes, manuals or original data packs until a couple years ago.

Glad to hear that you finally got Tax Planner. Since USPS lost that package with SimpleCalc also (only the DDPs), I have been looking for those two for you.

My apologies for the bumping an old thread, but I think I may have one of these titles stashed in one of my forgotten ADAM boxes--

Does anyone recall what the eBay price was for Market Monitor CIB or Tax Planner CIB in that auction? I haven't seen much activity with sales involving these titles, and the ones currently listed on eBay are insanely expensive -- if I have one of these titles, I'm not interested in listing a sky-high price and having a "forever" listing on eBay for it. I usually try to peg prices around what the items have traded hands for in the past.

Thanks!

Application software for retro-computers usually isn't highly desired except for the very hardcore collectors. In the Adam's case that would mean you can count the number on one hand and still have some fingers left over!

Your best bet is to place them up for auction at a very reasonable starting price in the hopes of starting a bidding war and you can always place a reserve price to protect yourself from having to basically give them away.

I think I paid $70 in a buy it now auction for Tax Planner boxed. There was a mint cib Market Monitor that sold about a year ago for $125 + shipping. It only got one bid for the starting price.
