Does it use a joystick? I've always felt that playing paddle games without analog controls is a lot like trying to play pick-up sticks with your ass cheeks.

Yeah , you can use a joystick.
It also plays good using the keyboard arrow keys.

ROM Names and Dip Switch settings have been added and everything should be cool. See any errors let me know. Also, I try and add link to the ROMs sometime during the week.

Ahh.. looks like the game is actually called "Meikyu Jima"; Japanese obviously. There is a US version, but for some reason they call it "Kickle Cubele". http://www.emuparadi...le_Cubele/97649

My fault, I didn't even notice. I got the name "Kickle Cubicle" from the NES version.

Your Bonus Life dipswitch settings for Ghouls'n Ghosts don't correspond to anything that's there. Is that a typo? The closest thing available is 20k, 50k, and every 70k.

My bad. Those were the settings from Ghost and Goblins. Fixed it. Also got a few scores :)

Hey folks, you can get over 30,000 in GnG just by camping on the first screen. Is there any rule change we can make to prevent that...like counting the highest score, but you have to make it to at least the 2nd level for it to count?

Or maybe just say no camping?

I guess we could allow camping and just try really hard to break about 35,000 playing through the game the standard way, to render it irrelevant.

Edit: I scored 26,400 with camping. If someone manages to reach 30,000 this way, they'll get the extra life and reach ~40,000.

I'm fine with that. We usually allow point pressing on games with time. Look at DK. Contra on the other hand will be a different story. No leeching there. In the big picture, 40k is a drop in the bucket for GnG. I'm not that good at it though. I may go back and press the 1st level for max 1st level points.

GnG - 13,600

I don't think camping should be allowed, you have to keep moving forward.

Anyone else? I'm cool either way. Come to think of it, I'd rather keep moving forward for the sake of time. We've got a lot of games to cover here. Its still early in the tourney so if you want a voice in this decision speak now. I just got a 19,400 playing straight through.

Frankly, for games like GnG, I prefer to go by highest level reached, which is more meaningful than points. (In the case of GnG, you could do highest half-level reached, since there are halfway markers in each stage). Of course, this may result in a lot of ties in the standings for this game.

I would vote for no camping, but how do we judge that exactly? If I stick around an area for 10-20 extra seconds to kill a few more bad guys, am I camping?
