I'm not sure why, but I found myself going back to the trusty CX-40 for 8-bit games.  Just like the feel and response, I guess.  Anyway, I recently picked up a big mixed lot of 2600 stuff, and there was a Flashback 2 in there.  I owned and sold a Flashback 2+, and I remember those joysticks being great.  This Flashback 2 has great joysticks as well, although I'm not sure if they are pirated or not.  I remember reading somewhere that Curt Vendel likes these better than CX-40s as well.  I was going to sell the Flashback 2, but I can't part with these joysticks now.

I like the fb2 joysticks and they have been my main joysticks for awhile now. I just recently picked up an fb3 for the joysticks because I had heard that they have a longer throw.  They do and I think I like them but I'm not sure yet. I may go back to the fb2 sticks.  I love my CX40's the best, but I try to save them since they're harder to replace.

I loved my fb2 joystick, until it snapped off. It was great for a few hours. I'm more careful with the other one, and it hasn't snapped yet.

Overall they are okay I guess. I do find them to be a bit too stiff in my opinion though.

I don't care for the fact that you can unscrew them.  I guess I could glue them, but I'm not a huge fan of the whole CX design anyway, iconic as it it.

same thing happened to me. Super glued it back on and hasnt broken again. Dont worry about pushing it back on, the stick is attached to a flat base with a rubber contact pad.

One died on me and im not sure why. Board is ok... No visible breaks in the cord and the solder points are ok. Thinking its the ground pin in the plug, but my volt meter is busted.

I had a similar experience.  I broke off the first fb2 joystick pretty quickly.  I was very careful with the second one, but it's life still ended with a tragic snap.  They died so young...

yup.  I use my flashback joysticks all the time now with my 2600.  Even though I heard some peice of plastic broken off inside, I just took the top off and shaked out the broken piece, put it back together and its just fine.  No problems since.
