Emulation is allowed, as is whatever controls you can make. Settings will be Game 7, 100 Dreadnaughts, making the sky the limit on scoring. Round ends Sunday, July 15th 2012 @10pm EST After extensive play this evening, I'll allow the A8 cart/program as well since the difference evens out. A8 has worse bomb control and harder ship order. No current HSC record for this mode yet, but I will provide a bonus challenge(or 2). Challenge I: Level 1 Highest score gets a bonus point. Ties score the same bonus. Who can max it out? And all it's accomplished is to see I'm horrible at this game... Yeah, I'm not deliberately sandbagging on Missile Command, just haven't had the time to run up the score on it yet while I try to learn some of the other Knockout games. Need to find time for Dreadnaught factor too. Looks like this month is going to be heavily centered on classic gaming (not that there's anything wrong with that!) What about a touchscreen input in IOS or Android? Just curious, don't even know if there is a 5200 emulator for them Maybe that wouldn't be fair... Oh, now I remembered the Wii! LidLikesIntellivision Posted July 7, 2012 Share Posted July 7, 2012 I just tested the wiixl emulator to play 5200 games. It's like the atari800 emulator without any modification to use the wiiremote. zylon Posted July 8, 2012 Author Share Posted July 8, 2012 ^^ The 5200 MC is just the 800 MC with modifications to make full use of the analog controls for 5200. If the Wii emulator is similar to the Dreamcast emulator, then you've got a pretty good one. The key is selecting the correct system first. Mine uses 800 as default and must be set to 5200 each time I load it. It does allow use of the analog stick or D-pad, though D-pad is clumsy in its' response. As always, I'm grateful for this HSC contest for giving me the chance to really dig into these titles! This variant is a great combination of skill and luck to succeed.
