Only $1700 US dollars. Sigh

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 1608389873751?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=160838987375&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

Seriously I just wish that anybody left from 4logic would reprint this game, the demand is through the roof. There isn't anything wrong with profiting from your product, you don't have to donate the money to charity. Anybody who asks them to do that is retarded. Just re-release the game please. :)

Please, with sugar on top?

I must be retarded for not trying to pawn my 3 copies (2 original, one Gold). I could easily have a nice 1100cc bike to cruise around in. But I got them new, paid retail, and don't want to sell. Like I say - retarded.

I had to sell my BS and BSG about 8 years ago to pay the rent, and though I did good then with $300 and $400 respectively. But I wouldn't have sold them if it wasn't dire need, even at that price. I actually did think one day I would by at least BSG back, and wouldn't complain if I had to pay even a hundred or two more than I sold it for, but at the prices these days it's definately not even worth it to me now, and I always look at the buying price as an investment figuring I'll get at least what I payed back, if not more if the time comes to have to sell again. I'm not willing to invest that much though. I do have day dreams about finding BS or BSG in the wild mixed in with other Jag games at a garage sale or something (not being sold by the original owner who might know the value), but I know that would be about as likely as winning the lottery, so I play the lottery instead figuring I could afford to wast $1500 on it at that point.

After one of the developers at Scatologic decided to be an ass to me, I sold my Battlesphere Gold to a friend for 30% more than I paid for it, which was hundreds of dollars less than people were paying at the time.

Either that or smash the game.

So I sold my copy on principle. :) Do I miss that game? Nah!

Do we have to guess which one?

If everyone had done that over the years there would be a market flooded with them or a huge pile of broken plastic and boards...

Anything that is overpriced on the jag is due to speculators driving the cost up over the last decade, if WE THE PEOPLE choose NOT to pay these prices, the speculators will eventually be forced to drop prices to a reasonable level, but it has to be EVERYONE or no one, if anyone continues to buy jag products at the outragious prices, then it won't work. So my advice is just sit tight and wait for BS&BSG and to those who want to sell, DON'T, and if you have too, don't consider it a loss if you sell it for a more reasonable price (just a few hundred). Otherwise jag prices will continue to rise and we'll see more outragious prices, like games that sold for $5 a few years ago now costing $50!! And don't be a DUMB*SS and bid the prices up just becuase you feel you have to have it or have to win the auction!!! You will get another opportunity eventually, let the first or second bidder win!!!

I have to admit I miss the game, but I definately don't miss that developer and don't care if they never release anything again, it's just not worth putting up with the biggest *sshole in the Jag community. All his ego is over this one f*cking game too, which isn't even the best the Jag has to offer! And if it was, that isn't saying much still, compared to 'killer apps' on succesful systems. But people like that always get what they deserve in the end, so don't worry, he'll get his just deserts, some how, some way, some day.

Funny too - the way that @ss talked, you would think he single handedly made the game. If I'm not mistakes, all he did was the music engine and network code. The AI and 3D work - i.e., what made up the game was done by Scott, and of course Steph did the great tunes.

A noble thought, but there will always be the one idiot that has got to have it, and that's all it takes to keep the prices high on items that rarely pop up.

That does not suprise me one bit, I actually thought it would be something like that! But pitiful people hang onto their one shining moment in life, their "fifteen minutes of fame." Then act like they're more important than the creator of the universe! Which wouldn't even be a stretch for his Atheistic ego. (I'm not putting down Atheists, if they want to not believe in a God, that's their peragative, just him in particular)

I don't remember what I paid for my regular edition but I'm fairly certain I bought it on AA for $200 something. When a Gold came up from an AA member selling on eBay in 2009, I did a side deal off eBay for $500 shipped. Then I listed and sold my regular for $374.95 shipped on eBay. Essentially upgrading for $125. I was promised a Jugs adapter and the guy never did find or send it to me. OH well. I think I've got roughly $300 or $400 invested in my Gold, total in the grand scheme of things. I'm not sure I'd want to part with it at any point. It's one of those crown jewels, that you would kinda sell everything else first...

Ah but he does enjoy his 'King Turd of Shit Mountain' throne he's been holding for so many years.

I'd always been led to believe God rested on the seventh day of creation but I now know that he created Battlesphere.

I think the best way to kill that vicious circle is simply to stop bidding such crazy way: despite the qualities BS or BSG may have, the price is totally disconnected to the value of the fun they can provide and that sucks.

Now unfortunately as long as cupidity will belong to human being I am afraid some guys would continue to bid over any reasonable price and this is why that vicious circle goes on :/

Personnaly it sounds so stupid to me to pay the price of a brand new computer for a vintage game that I don't even miss those games.

They'll tell you that they won't make more because a deal was struck that all proceeds must be donated to charity and it's not worth it to make more for them, but the people they struck the deal with long since sold all their rights to Atari off, released the jaguar into public domain and there's nobody left who can hold them to it or even cares; it's just a lame excuse, no matter what they say. But it's an excuse to not have to do anything about it and they think it makes them look noble, it's their ego's.

It is written in the Bible, that those who give to charity privately and anonimously will be rewarded in heaven, those who do it for all to see and for the praise of man have already recieved all the reward they will ever get.

That reminds me of something that RT wrote once, about his relatives watching him rub one off.
