UPDATE (7/27/2012):

0 regular Slither boxes left! The remaining are the discounted perfectly good boxes with no perf or hang tab cutout.

UPDATE (7/26/2012):

International pricing is as follows:

$17 to Canada
$22 to France, Spain, UK/ROI/Crown Dependencies
SOLD OUT!

All other countries, send me a PM. I have to fill out a customs form at the Post Office for each box shipped, thus the delay for those around the world.

I have approximately 10 rotary-cut boxes that I did prior to obtaining my robotic cutter. These are just as beautiful as the regular boxes, but are missing:

a) perforation on inside-top flap and
b) hang-tab is not cut out.

If anyone would like to order these, I am knocking 30-33% off the going price, as these are considered irregular.

Irregular Boxes are as follows:

$10.00 to U.S.
$11.50 to Canada
$15.40 to France, Spain, UK/ROI/Crown Dependencies

Hello everybody!

After several long months of delay, they're finally here! Authentically-styled SLITHER boxes for your Colecovision collection!

These boxes are constructed of 100% heavy poster board and printed to 600 dpi laser-printing specifications. They are machine cut for precision and likeness that is true to the Coleco originals. Construction, design, and implementation done completely in-house and made in the U.S.A.!

I have 30  7 2 0 regular* boxes up for sale NOW, but I'm limiting purchases to 1 box per customer at this time. My goal is to produce more of these this summer —as well as a larger line of replica boxes, some seen in the past—after I've seen what type of demand there is. If all goes well, I'm considering getting a table at CGE 2012, where additional boxes would be sold.

As it stands, the first 30 people to PM me with requests will get a box shipped out within 2 days. PM must be received and replied to for confirmation of sale.

Fees have gone up a slight bit. Based on test-marketing, I've made several major improvements:
  • Heavy, glossy, U-V protective coating on every box
  • 100% re-drawn graphics @600 dpi
  • Quality Control has been majorly improved in printing, brightness, and construction
  • Machine-cut boxes and inserts for improved snugness of cart and manual
  • Factory correct fonts used on every side
  • Bar-coded with Colecovision's Slither/Roller Controller stock number
  • Restoration of "hang-tab" flap and perforated inside flap—true to factory likeness!
  • True-to-period design. Based on Coleco's 1983 design revision pertaining to the Roller Controller's debut!
Boxes for this special sale are $15 flat fee anywhere in the U.S. Due to major constraints with my current schedule, I cannot offer International Shipping at this time. I will be able to support International Shipping later this summer.

I want to give a special thank you to those AA members who provided me with feedback for this project. Hope to see some of you at CGE!

So for all intents and purposes, your 30 boxes are for US residents only.

It's not really a problem if you plan to make more later this summer.

Yes Luc,

It is most unfortunate, but my schedule is pretty tight. This will change around the middle of August, and I will update post #1 to reflect that. Boxes will then be available for worldwide distribution.

Cheers!

Greg

Yah, I'd definitely be interested once Canadian shipping becomes an option. :)

Very nice indeed.  Once international shipping is available I'd be interested.

Does the flap tuck into the box to close it?

A note: I'd buy a Slither box, except I already picked one up from Collectorvision a while back.  However, if you produce boxes that I don't yet own...such as boxes for some homebrews that didn't have any...I'd be in on it.  This is a very reasonable price, I think.

Hey Ikrananka,

Fantastic! I wish it weren't this way, but the wait is not very long, and there'll be plenty to go around.

The flap design is an exact copy of the original Colecovision game boxes. You have to tear off (sacrifice) the perforated inside (long) flap in order to use the tuck feature. In short, yes!

Hey Jeff,

Yes, Collectorvision did a run of these some time back. I never handled one myself, but I did see a JPG of the cover art, and that looked great! That said, I have a unique new design on the hotplate right now, and I can't wait to get one produced. The time is near!

Cheers,

Greg

Great to see that you have finally completed the Slither box and I simply can't applaud you enough for the incredibly low flat fee price that you are selling these at... I feel like I am stealing it for the price of $15! Gotta give you    .

I had a chance to look over firsthand an earlier revision a couple months ago and supply my feedback and as impressed as I was with the earlier revision, from what I have read of Greg's description above and seeing the new pics... these final release boxes look to be about as perfect as perfect can get.

Thank You again for another great contribution to the CV Scene and a PM is on it's way!

Thanks Todd!

I have been considering this type of thing. What I'd really like to do, is have a middleman in Canada (and Europe even more so). Then I could potentially ship the flat, pre-assembled boxes to that person, thus saving international customers a few dimes. Overall I've found that shipping to Canada is barely a dollar more for these, so it might be a wash there. I also mention this because of the likelihood of having to pay someone in Canada to receive and assemble the boxes.

Jim, your kind regard is very much appreciated!

I'm so glad that I can contribute to the Colecovision scene in this way. I love being "The Art Department" and keeping the CV flame burning! Glad to know that the cost is well-received. It's a pricey process, but I've used the time to get the most reasonably priced materials without sacrificing quality.

I'm certain these boxes will be a smash hit, as well as my upcoming special Colecovision 1983-style release that is coming soon! I can't wait to share this one with you all, and I'm really looking forward to completing it!

Thanks to all who've supported me and who continue to keep the Colecovision scene vibrantly happening!
