I just got one in the mail today. How do I tell if it is really PAL? It has the P sticker but is that ever faked? I couldn't find a scan of either a PAL or NTSC box other than the Playaround versions. It has video marketing N.S.W. Australia on it so, it makes me a little more confident it is PAL. Does anyone have a scan of the box to compare? How do I tell if the seal is original and the cart is inside without opening? How many of these are there? I can post pictures later but I'm on my way to work. Thanks.

So you was the one to win that auction.
There are 3 that I know of.
99% sure it is real.

Three including this one? Can you explain more about those? What's the 1% doubt?

Yours is not a fake, dont worry.
Why would anyone want to fake one anyway. :P
The pics you have provided are from the authentic Mystique game.
The 3 I know of are yours, mine and someone elses.
It is still a Holy Grail game.
Maybe Rom can verify this ?

I guess I'm just paranoid and like to be 100% before leaving feedback. I didn't know what real looked like because Rom just has a scan of the cart. Also, someone could probably fake the seal and then sell the cart but after really looking at it this seal looks old. How Rom has the companies labeled made me unsure( PlayAround / JHM and Mystique / American Multiple Industries) because it is Mystique but also has JHM on the box but no American Multiple Industries. It made me wonder if there is also a Mystique /JHM company or something is wrong.

May I see pictures of yours? What is the condition of yours and the other one(cart, box, manual, CIB, sealed, only one side of cart works,...)? Thanks

Definitely genuine and still a Holy Grail (3rd one known to exist).

Congratulations.

Mystique became PlayAround after the protests.

Some changes (other director, different location), but that's it.

Excellent find.

Thanks. What you know about the other two?

I just looked through all of the scans of both companies to try to clear up my confusion but it still looks like I'm seeing three. There is Mystique / American Multiple Industries with Swedish Erotica, Mystique / JHM without Swedish Erotica, and PlayAround / JHM.

Mine is sealed and in excellent condition.
Rom has asked me to do some scans of the box, which I will in the next few days.
As for the other one,I'm not sure who owns it.

Staberinde, IIRC.

Here's a snippet:
Mystique - PlayAround.jpg

Hence the name PlayAround, IMO.

I understand that but what about JHM and AMI. The box has JHM so why is it AMI?

I think only in these two cases:
http://www.atarimani...golo_20245.html
http://www.atarimani...sire_20244.html

JHM was already put on Mystique carts before Mystique became PlayAround.

An in between situation, so to say and I very much doubt there are other Mystique double-enders.

That's what I'm saying. In the article it said that AMI has contracts to use Mystique on the three Swedish Erotica games and that is the only times I see AMI in any of your scans of Mystique games. Since JHM was already put on Mystique carts before Mystique became PlayAround that makes me wonder if after the Swedish Erotica carts JHM had the rights to use the name Mystique and then changed it to PlayAround. What I'm trying to figure out is why do you have the Mystique games that aren't Swedish Erotica labeled as being AMI instead of JHM?

Actually, the Australian Mystique carts were by Video Marketing, so to be completely correct, I have to add that as well.

Could't they be labeled Mystique or PlayAround without the JHM or AMI and have the companies maybe in the Additional Comments? Or combine them under Mystique/PlayAround in the same way that Atari Inc. and Atari Corp. are combined under Atari(USA)? It would make it easier to look at them all in one list. Also, the article being in the additional comments would provide more information.

Perhaps I will remove AMI and JHM alltogether, but I don't want to combine Mystique and PlayAround,

I will certainly think about adding the article, though.

More articles from mags not already in our database will be added in the future.

More articles ,facts, theories, label variation explanations, and history about games would be helpful. For an example, I don't understand how and why the Flag Capture picture label is a holy grail. I don't know if it is a prototype label or if it was released but somehow less than four survived. I only know that it is a holy grail. On the other hand, some games have all kinds of useful information.

Anyway, does the owner of the scanned cart have a manual to scan?

Don't think so, because it's shrinkwrapped.

I don't know why Flag Capture is a Holy Grail either.

I only know less than 4 are known to exist.

But the scan is of the loose cart.

Sorry, thought you were talking about the upcoming scans.

Don't think Stab has the manual.
