I was just curious if anyone knew of some kind of plastic outer case you could put cardboard Atari game boxes inside of to protect them on the shelf. Basically just a transparent, rigid/semi-rigid plastic box a little larger than a 2600 cardboard game box would work. Anyone seen anything like this for sale anywhere to preserve boxes from getting crushed?

Hey sorry for answering my own question, but I found this:

Have to measure an Atari box to see if any of these sizes will work... It looks like a "PVC tuck-style box" is what I had in mind, so searching the web for that may yield more results... Anyone have experience using these for video games?

They offer Atari protectors which fit standard 2600, 5200, and 7800 boxes.  I've been using them for a long time, and I'm very happy with them.

I bought mine here at clearbags.com. There is a size of PVC ones that is 1" thick. It's 5 7/8 x 1 x 7 13/16 and gave me a little extra room which I was fine with. I ordered 300 of them and paid under 60 cents each shipped.

I'm happy to see this thread. There used to be a Game Exchange shop here in Chattanooga and they sold N64 and Sega Genesis games in these kinds of boxes, which were also perfect for 2600/7800 games. I have a few, but never knew where to get any more once the shop closed.
