I have a cart labeled "Wolf Demo" that appears to be the 3-D demo I have listed on Lynx Links. When I got it I thought the cart was no good because I would only get a black screen on my Lynx I. If I reset it I would see a flash of the game screen and than it would go black agian. Recently I got a Lynx II and popped it in out of curiousity, it worked perfect. I had thought that the two Lynx were basicly identical when it came to hardware, why would a cart work in one and not the other? Has anyone else experianced something like this?

Interesting, I didnt know there was a difference that could cause incompatibility.

the bug is in the code and not the hardware - the bug makes only a problem in the lynx-1 where the 2 is ignoring the softwarebug.

I'm more interested in this Wolf demo. I've never heard of this.

It is just the demo that was on the S.I.M.I.S. cart release years ago by Bastian and Lars.

Yeah,i always wondered why they never did more with it too.It looked rather cool!

Edit:
Upon looking at that video i see that is a Songbird released cart... Strange,I never knew Carl to have released that one. :?

We had the same bug in the early Championship Rally-cart. It took a long time to solve it. It has to do with timing of the drawing engine. The Lynx I fails if you access drawing registers close to the VBL interrupt. I don't remember the exact details anymore but it took a while to sort it out.

Anyway, the released Championship Rally cart works perfectly on Lynx I and Lynx II.

I also wrote the cc65 graphics drivers to work the same way so games written on top of the tgi-drivers should work on both platforms.
