Thought I'd start a fun topic for the 2600 forums. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this little faux paus...

"You know you haven't played in awhile when"

......you actually end up CHASING the ghost in Ms. Pacman and die when you touch it. Hmmmm... :D

Anyone else have a funny story to share?

When you are pushing in a cartridge that won't fit into your 2600 and getting frustrated- then realize the cart is from your Colecovision stack. :dunce:

When you think your TV is broken and then quickly realize the B/W switch is in the wrong position!

(same goes for thinking that your console is broken and then quickly realizing that the channel selector is set to 2 instead of 3)

lol...these are good, guys. My next one would have to be...."in Berzerk you can't seem to get a grip to keep from running into the walls, then you realize (facepalm) you haven't even touched an Atari 2600 controller in months, and need to relearn it all over again!" I seem to be having trouble working the damn thing. :-o

You're wondering why Wizard of Wor doesn't work and then you realize you need to be using the controller in the right, not left, port.

You plug in Mythicon's Star Fox and start yelling at the top of your lungs "Do a barrel roll!"

When you can't remember which is more difficult: A or B on the difficulty switch. I always use Space Invaders to figure that out, as SI makes it pretty obvious.

When you forget which way the controllers plug in. When your VCS is grey. When you don't thing imagic carts are for the vcs. When you play Pac man. When you try congo bongo on a sixer... I got more of a list but that seeme like enough.
