Guest
Its been a while since I have been here. Some of you might remember I'm the guy with the TI994/a with the bad keyboard. My situation is quite simple. Should I buy another keyboard, or is there an alternative way? I saw something a couple days ago about a adapter type thing that you can use a regular keyboard to plug in to the TI, but then I saw the triple digit price and decided that was a no-go. Is there anything similar, or does anyone have a WORKING keyboard?
20ohm20
I spent months looking for (black) replacement keyboards. I came to the conclusion that it was cheaper to just buy entire TI-99/4A's and swap out the keyboards. It seemed silly to pay $25+ on eBay for just a keyboard when I was getting entire TI-99/4A's for ~$15 that provided additional spare parts. S1500
Didn't Triton have some gizmo that let you plug in a PC keyboard to use on a TI? I swore I saw it many moons ago.
JamesD
Can you swap keycaps between black and grey TI keyboards? I have a grey one I picked up with a box of stuff off of ebay. It's still in a retail bag from when they were being closed out at Radio Shack.

They all fit except for shift, which ended up being way off center. Luckily, I found a spare keyboard I didn't know I had out in the garage, so I used that instead (it also had grey keys, though). I need to do something about the posts that the keys snap into, though, as on both keyboards some are splitting at the corners, leading to keys that get stuck down quite easily.
