I'm packing up my VG room (moving early next year, need to repair the room so everything goes in boxes :( ) and I came across these. Probably not to many people have them, but probably not worth many $s.

Please explain more about this, the Project was a board that will allow you to program Intellivision games and was never built? that is the reason of the refund mora than a year later?

Intellivision was creating a pc card and development system to develop you own intellivision games on your PC. Apparently there were issue with it, so they refunded the money. copy of email from Lisa Dawson 01/04/1999.

As one of those who ordered a Magus II, we are sending you a

complimentary copy of the Intellivision Lives CD-ROM. Unfortunately, we

were not able to overcome the technical problems in making the Magus II

a reliable product, so with the CD-ROM we will also be sending you a

refund check for your Magus order.

We apologize for the time this has taken, and we thank you for your

patience. You should receive the CD and check within a week.

We hope you enjoy Intellivision Lives!

So, wait! Was that a board for consumers, or were you going to work for Intellivision Productions?

Yes, just search for it. I'm currently working on transcribing it into a document so that it is searchable and copy+pastable.

So far, I'm done with the basic document's 5 chapters. I need to complete the many appendices, full of charts, tables and sample code.

This was intended for my own personal use, not for distribution, though. I don't want to piss off anybody.

Personally I would have thought that by 1997 (date of the letter) the market for new Intellivision games would have long gone.

You know, I thought it was. It wasn't until some time in 2008 when I discovered that it was still alive and kicking, and that it actually never quite died!

Maybe I should add "... given the demise of INTV Corp in 1990 and the fact that mainstream gamers had moved onto the PSX, N64 and Saturn by then." ;).

Sorry for the necro bump. I have one of the "YOUR FRIEND, THE EXEC" documentation. It was part of the compensation Intellivision gave to "MAGUS 2" pre-order customers. Not sure about the value (as the topic says). I've enclosed some pictures, the conditions is used. Open for offers (PM).

Thanks for reading,

Marc.

*** SOLD ***

Don't want to start a bidding craze, I just want to give an idea about the offers so far. There are 5 people interested, I've received 2 bids, the highest is US$ 150. Feel free to drop in a bid within the next 24 hours, highest bid will get the folder. The highest bidder right now is the only one who will get the option to make a counter offer.

Many thanks for your interest :)

Marc.

What is amazing to me is the fact they could have dropped off a bag of money to Nanochess and IntyBASIC would have been born years ago with many new games out in the market, years ago.
