128Kgames
Something I should have mentioned. The SGM case mold must be used at least once every 18 months, otherwise it gets recycled. So I must place orders for cases every 18 months, otherwise we loose the mold. So you don't "own" this mold outright? Damn, that's not good. What about an option to buy? Does the place you are dealing with give you that option? I know you own your case mold so I would think you would want this one too, no? But don't worry, I will make sure that I order enough cases before the mold is re-purposed.

Geoff Oltmans
I have a quick question about the SGM... when plugged into the ADAM, does it "take over" the system? I'm wondering how it behaves with the ADAM's built-in memory since it's already got 64kb and its own banking scheme.

I believe that is part of the whole topic that got started on how to program with SGM in that you have to check if it is an adam first and if it is not then you activate the SGM memory but if it is an ADAM then you do not activate the SGM. Anotherwards the Adam takes over the SGM Except I guess it could still use the SGM's sound chip event though it is using the adam memory allocation instead of the SGM memory allocation

jblenkle
The SGM will check to see if it's plugged into an ADAM and if it is, it will use ADAM's extra memory. If it finds a ColecoVision, it will use the SGM memory. I have a quick question about the SGM... when plugged into the ADAM, does it "take over" the system? Pixelboy
The SGM will check to see if it's plugged into an ADAM and if it is, it will use ADAM's extra memory. If it finds a ColecoVision, it will use the SGM memory. That's essentially correct, except that it's not the SGM itself that does the checking, it's whatever game cartridge is inserted into the console. This implies that the SGM's RAM will be disabled by default for games that don't require the SGM.

King_Salamon
I know this plugs into the Coleco system's expansion bay but on the Adam... where does it go? I was looking at getting an Adam and wondered where the Adam's expansion bay was located? I'm not talking about the Adam that requires a Coleco but the full-fledged Adam computer (that you can use Coleco carts on)? And yes, I am definitely an Adam noob... apologies if this is a trivial question.

What if someone put the Coleco + Adam Expansion Module + the SGM?
opcode
ADAM's expansion port is located on the right side. I am not sure if Luc had the chance to check the SGM with the CV+EM#3, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. Liduario, have we met before? Are you a member of Canal 3? No, I've met you here for the first time and my first Colecovision just arrived two weeks ago! I bought it from Yurkie. I even don't know Canal 3. Well, only the Canal 3 that made Atari Games. I had an Atari when I was 6 but didn't hear about ColecoVision at that time. Did Canal 3 made Colecos here in Brazil? It's very cool that you speak Portuguese and your name and surname are Brazilian too, are you from Brazil? BTW, Eduardo is the name of my brother! My name is Alexandre Liduario, a new owner of a ColecoVision and very happy with this great console!

I don't have the EM#3 anymore, I sold it to retroillucid less than a year ago, so I can't test it.

TheGameCollector
I can't afford one right now but don't want to miss out on the Zelda clone. Do you think in the future these SGM games will run on an emulator?
