Super Game Module now available for order

You did say that you ordered two first run SGM's right? Just sayin...

You shouldn't assume XavierGames planned on selling the second unit. For example, I ordered 3 and intended to use all 3 of them; two were intended as gifts for people I know who are also into retro gaming. I too have no games and am concerned that by the time I get the units they will be pointless.

I am not assuming anything...just simply pointing out that unless you wish to restrict all sales to 1 per customer, you can't really complain about what people decide to do with their own copies.

I myself am not a fan of "flippers", but I've finally come to terms with the fact that it is their prerogative. Personally, I only buy what I need/want for my own collection. Keep in mind...I have been in the same boat, having I missed out on a number of home-brews, only to see them on eBay going for $500+. It does suck when that happens. Now, I just make sure to keep my eyes on the new releases and pre-order them accordingly. Also, if you are patient, you can find them at somewhat reasonable prices here in the marketplace from time to time.

I'm just saying, you can't buy multiple copies of something yourself, and then complain about others doing the same...for whatever the reasons. It is a contradiction, in and of itself.

This is true. Once it goes out the door(ie a copy sold), there ain't nothing you can do about it.

Of course I would want to order 2 SGM games of the same title. I have 2 nipples to rub the games on. DUH.

Some people buy the items twice to use one of them and keep the other one packaged on the shelf.

It's not my kind of thing, but as you already said: Everyone has it's own choice what to do with their second unit.

As a gamer and a collector, that's just what I did. That, and its also a backup in the event one breaks. I'm sure many of us have backup consoles in the event one goes bad (or several if you collect Ballys/Astrocades like me) so its no different with a peripheral.

To be honest

I don't give a shit if somone buy more than one copies of our games and sell a few of them on ebay!

Yeah, As long as most collectors got their copy / and I get rid of my inventory!

Anyway, if you're on our mailing list there's very few reasons why you could not get a copy

And we usually makes more than one batch / or have enough copies for everyone

We only stop to produce more copies till Eduardo get back here and ship the 2nd run of SGMs

*hooonnk* My bad, cause if he never shows up again (which I really, really hope won't happen), then everything, at least all those beautiful sgm games, will be lost in oblivion :skull:

As for me I'm planning to get hold of a working adam computer -- or the adam module for the coleco , so I can plug those super games...

the only game that dont work on adam is king's valley

thexder and rollerball work but no sound

I don't know about Rollerball, but AFAIK, Thexder performs the exact same boot test to detect the SGM as King's Valley, so normally the game should give you the same error message when you boot/reset Thexder without the SGM plugged in (either on the CV or the ADAM).

I should double-check that though...

I've been in Nagoya since mid-last week on a no-notice business trip. I'll be back in Tokyo (hopefully) this weekend and will be able to poke at the workalike throughout the following week.

Sorry for going dark there for a bit.

You know what, why don't you just stop trolling this thread. Seeing as you're not out a red cent on this project as opposed to many of us who put out money, I find it unbelievable that you've posted more about it than anyone else. We all know your thoughts on this matter so please stop talking.

You caught up in this too Chris?

I suppose you elected to wait for the corrected nameplate also?

In stark contrast to Eduardo, I provide a status update:

... and after a day or two at home doing expense reports, I'm out to Shenzhen on Tuesday. No schematics this week, sorry.

I have a nascent design document on the SGM clone -- it's really just a theory-of-design paper that I put together for my own reference, derived from ADAM schematics, the reverse-engineered ColecoVision schematics (which are slightly incorrect regarding the expansion interface -- beware!), and Spectravideo schematics (for the sound chip).

I can post this if anyone wants a look-see.

Design question: it's TONS easier to just enable the 32k expansion all the time; is there any real interest in going with the wacky enable-RAM-only-not-on-ADAM scheme? ADAM owners can build a sound-chip-only variant for about USD$20.00; ColecoVision owners can build the whole thing for about USD$30.00. SGM-specific games are supposed to work fine on the ADAM ... so why go to the extra enabling/decoding heartache?
