ydcl
Hi all, What are some games like Mario that you take turns and are platform, and also are easy-medium to play with my wife and stepdaughter? We always play Mario; I have many systems as we all do here in the forum. So just keep in mind not to mention something too rare! I already have Sonic games, Donkey Kong... Just games that follow the Mario/Sonic formula of platforming and turn taking. NES TG16 - Preferred as I need more games for this system SNES SATURN SMS Jaguar Other systems are okay too, but I would like to keep it in the range of the mentioned systems, for a retro gaming family night! Cheers! Yan
Lentzquest
Psycho Fox for the SMS and Ristar for the Genesis come to mind. Also anything from the Rayman series.
icemanxp300
Mario party by far has to be the best family game there is.
Lentzquest
Paperboy and Toobin are really good NES family games. Both are really unique too. I can't think of a genre that either really fit into.
RJ
I don't think you'll find too many of these on Jaguar. Only attack of the Mutant Penguins comes to mind, & that's not really what you want. I heard Bubsy is so hard, nonfans won't enjoy it. Hmm...maybe Zool 2?

SoulBlazer
Any of the Mario Kart games are very good racing games. You might also try video game ports of game shows and board games. Tetris can be a lot of fun split screen also, as well as some old arcade games.
sqoon
You don't specify if co-ops are alright, but I know that they are great fun for up to 4 players on most systems. NES Gauntlet using the 4-score or satellite for 4 players is awesome fun for all. Any TMNT game on NES, Genesis, or SNES is multi player co-op, and lots of family fun. Xenophobe on NES is, to me, an underrated jewel, and split screen simultaneous play makes it loads of fun for 2 players (no waiting for turns on this one). Any Mario Party game on N64 or Gamecube is excellent for family fun.
Impaler_26
How about Street Racer? It's a fun racer like Mario Kart and it's available for various consoles.

She likes Mario because it's simple and she can take turns by herself without me taking her out like in Mortal Kombat or Super Mario Wii. I know she's picky. Arkhan
Turbo Grafx-16: Bomberman (not platforming, but it is great multiplayer stuff) Platforming wise, its not 2 player but you can't go wrong with Bonk. Bonk 3 has multiplayer.
Austin
On the Saturn, pick up Clockwork Knight 1 and 2. They are both good family-friendly side-scrolling platformers.
ydcl
I'm gonna buy Bonk later, seems very Mario like. I'll take a look at the others later. Mario is so easy for anyone to pick up and play.
