help needed with svideo on 130XE

Hi all,

 

I'm having some issues with a 130XE and a svideo cable.

 

When I use the same cable on my 800XL (svideo mod) and on the 800XLF, I have a good image.

 

But on 'all' my XE's (130XE and 800XE) I have give a distorted image.

 

So, my TV is ok, the cable should be ok.

But I can't believe all my XE's are faulty.

 

Does anyone have an idea on this one?

If what we're seeing are zig-zag vertical lines, my stock XEs look exactly the same. You could check out the UltraVideo XE mod on my projects page, although I'd probably do things a little differently if I had another look at that mod.

Vertical, horizontal zig-zag lines. But also a raster.

It's like I see all the 'pixels' in GR.0

 

When I switch back to composite, the image is clear.

I don't know, I could use a multimeter and check it out.

But, strange thing is... It has a very clear image on my 800XL and 800XLF

So the cable must be ok.

Solved, I think.

 

 

Seems like the pin 4 is not grounded to the cable shielding.

 

When I ground pin 4 on the computer PCB, the image is clear...

 

Does that make sense?
