This is Week 20  ~  Paddle Game

Eggomania

A strangely colored, feathered fowl is bent on bombing your bedeviled blue bear with dozens of even stranger colored eggs. Your only defense is catching those falling orbs in your hat before they break and cause a real mess! If you succeed in catching an entire wave, you get the delightful opportunity to get even and fire them back at that turkey ! You'll be dazzled by his reaction. So go after that bird -- if you can "bear" the pressure. Otherwise, the yolks on you, because this week's game is Eggomania!

Game Information
Released By US Games
Game Mode Game 1

Difficulty B: Big Hat

Post your scores right here in this thread, and I will add them to the list. Remember to play the game with the recommended game mode and difficulty settings as shown above so that your scores will be consistent with everyone else. The deadline for posting scores is Midnight, Feb 10, 2013.

Bonus:
Match the second to last last Digit
If your ending scores' second to last last digit (ten spot) matches just ONE other person you get ONE bonus point.
If your ending scores' Second to last last digit (ten spot) matches THREE other people you get TWO bonus points.
If your ending scores' second to last last digit (ten spot) matches FIVE other people you get THREE bonus points.

What is the best method to "de-jitter" a set of paddle controllers?

i don't know the best way, but I do know the quickest:
Simply rotate the paddle back and forth through its entire range of motion continuously for 3 to 5 minutes, approximately.  This provides a quick fix to the jitters unless your paddles are in really bad shape.

So far this game seems less speedy than Kaboom, but it requires more precise movements.

My first posted score of the week:  20,112

Playing the game before reading the description lead me to believe I was a sad frog rather than a blue bear...

To dejitter my paddles, I opened them up and tried to work some isopropyl alcohol into the potentiometer with a fine brush. I made sure to wait till they dried before trying them out again. It helped a bunch.

My first score: 4858

Had to play using the player two paddle.  Player one is FAKKED.  Got an awesome score 19K and something.  Posting pic tomorrow.  Good for first try.  I always liked games like this, though the shooting of the chicken with the egg doesn't seem to work properly, not sure what the deal is with that.  I also noticed a few questionable moments when an egg got past me and I swear I was on it and it had a few bits to descend before hitting the danger zone.

Really liking this one.
Never played it as a kid. I am good at Kabbom, maybe that is why.

That's totes why, Kaboom! was what got me into the 2600, love it.  Unlike Kaboom!, though, this game has some questionable collision detection of the eggs at times.  I also can't figure where exactly I'm hitting the chicken when I hit it.  At times I'm pretty definite I hit it in the same place as before but it misses.  Anyway, here's my first score.

Didn't mean to edge you out, Voc. I had about 39k on my last turn, but choked as soon as it started.

my best so far:  21,780

i like this game almost as much as kaboom.  the theme & sounds & color scheme suffer a bit.

I was thinking I could weasel some extra points in the first three or four levels by letting the last egg drop a few times, then beaning the turkey & getting it cleaned up.  I think it's working, but not altogether sure yet.
