cparsley
Lupin (or is that Rupin) is awaiting you to make him a master thief... Can you do it? Scores must be played on Top Speed (Disc/Enter) to start game. Any other speeds are disqualified... (You'll know you are on the right speed with a WHITE DOT in the top right corner) (Also known as Red/Green/Blue BAD!!!!) Scores will be accepted until Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 @ noon central time. *** Bonus Whistle going off... Did you want to be in the competition but forgot the first game? Well, it's not going to be easy, but here's a way to get in, even at this stage of the game. Simply put, score 55,000 or more points in Lock 'n Chase by March 17th at score cutoff time, and as of the next game, you'll be admitted to Redemption Island, the way for eliminated players to get back in the game! Got what it takes??? Good Luck! *** (Requirement score changed) Leaderboard - Game "Lock 'n Chase" * Bold = Sent to Redemption Island (Final) * patbb - 75,720 Oscar G - 69,480 WispFollower - 50,360 Liduario - 43,600 cparsley - 41,880 JacobZu7zu7 - 36,760 darthkur - 34,920 jblenkle - 16,840 skosh - 0 Play - in scores felson42 - 89,280 BriceZ - 57,740 Edited March 19, 2013 by cparsley
jblenkle
...Scores must be played on Top Speed (Disc/Enter)... If you are playing via emulation (Nostalgia)...do you mean hit ENTER on your keyboard to play on Top Speed? I just want to be sure as there is no indication of what speed you are playing at. +DZ-Jay
I don't want to hijack this thread, or breach any customs, so I will ask nicely: would it be OK if I continue playing and posting scores and comments here in spite of it not really counting for the knock-out, or would it just get in everyone's way? I still enjoy participating on the HSC. dZ.

I still enjoy participating on the HSC. dZ. I don't want to speak for Cparsley but i have seen people do that before for other High Score challenges. I doubt it would hurt anything. I doubt it would be any different than you and Cparsley putting in scores for Christmas Carol even though both of you weren't eligible for the main competition. cparsley
Feel free to keep playing and rocking DZ! You never know when it might really help ya to be doing so! (Hint hint) Always nice to be installing next to a public library so u have Wi-Fi during the slow times of the install, so I'll be around if anyone has Qs.

LidLikesIntellivision
22,840 For now I'm only with the chase part. I still need to get the lock skills. P.S.: I think this isn't a good pic. It shows my best score but there's no way to prove I played in faster speed, which i did.
cparsley
Actually it is fine as if u change speed the high score is gone.

Actually Liduario if I remember well the colour of the little square at the top right of the screen (right side of the score) denotes the level at which you are playing the game. I think that a white square denoted the highest speed. Cheers! Edited March 6, 2013 by Oscar G.
cparsley
Actually to put everyone's mind at ease, whatever speed you play your first game at is noted by the color square (white=top, then red, green, blue in that order) Once started at a speed, subsequent games played concurrently can ONLY be played at that same speed (aka you DO NOT get another choice at speed pick). The only way to choose speed is to restart the Intellivision console, however that clears the high school middle green indicator! Ps - If anyone is thinking of pulling a Lock 'n Chase marathon, let me give you two pointers. One, the game drastically changes its AI once reaching 100,000 points. Note, this drastic change does NOT leave upon starting a new game once crossing that 100,000 plateau. Two, the game only scores to around 250-300k before rolling the scoreboard. Easiest way to notice a single rolled score is that the score will be that the last 2 digits will either be 10, 30, 50, 70 or 90. For more than one roll, play as player 2, as player 1 will not give a counter of times rolled at end of game, due to a programming glitch. That's enough on an iPod for now, get playing! UPDATE -- I've found that, at least for Nostalgia 5, it's broken allowing a level color change while keeping the high score up. As for this, score must be taken at end of game, showing either player 1 or player 2 with the same score as the High Score while at the White (top speed) level. felson42
I realize I'm too late to join the KO competition, but I played Lock N Chase just the other day and had to share because this is about the highest I've ever scored. Lock N Chase is one of my favorites. Hats off to you guys who've gotten over 100,000. I usually end up taking too many risks trying to get that fourth dollar sign. - Editors note: Very nicely done, and going for the 4th $ is how you get over 100,000... Just for you, I'm going to make a play-in, take a look at the first post. (Chris) Edited March 8, 2013 by cparsley

Oscar G.
Hello guys, Here is my score for this fine game. In my opinion, Data East games on the INTV (Lock, Burger, Mission, Bump and Thin Ice) are some of the finest games to ever grace the console. LidLikesIntellivision
37,940 For me it's always hard to keep track of 4 (or more) enemies and choose the right path in a maze game (pac-man, burgertime, lock'n'chase). But it doesn't mean I don't like those games. Not the richiest thief but, hopefully, I can buy my ticket for next round.
cparsley
if you want your thief to buy that ticket, I d feel safer for you at $40,000...

What about Carol vs Ghost my friend, your specialty was rolling the score over there

I am not sure cParsley that 40K will guarantee the ticket to the next round. LidLikesIntellivision
I didn't have problems with Christmas Carol and Night Stalker. Carol is fast and can dodge snowman. And I only have two enemies (actually the ghost isn't that bad) to worry about. But, yes, I was a bit surprised with my score. I even started to think I was playing maze games well. That was until lock n chase... In Night Stalker I have a gun! It solves all my maze problems.
