How to make the myIDE II work on a Atari 800 with Incognito

Version #7 of the MyIDE_ONLY will run on any 400/800, 8k minimum.
Full MyIDE-partition access, even SIDE-loader works great.

(Tested on a XL with 400/800 BIOS)

Was fun compiling this version, also added 1200XL-rev10 support.

I did not have time to do the mod yet, but will do that soon.

OK, Done..... Works great.

Will take 1 hour of your time.

I totally forgot how many screws and metal you need to remove, before you can get to it.

One wire, one cut, schematics confirm that on the RIGHT-slot pin A = PHI-2

Brilliant mod, why didn't I read this before....

Since the cartridge+CF does not fit under the hood, you need to leave the lit open.

This requires a second mod, to disable the safety ON/OFF circuit.

Very easy, just a wire-bridge, see picture.

All works great:

SIDE-loader, MyIDE_ONLY with all needed hotkeys.

Just heat up a pad on the PCB under the door switch, Flow solder onto it, then heat the other pad and flow it all together.

In other words, it is quick and easy to 'blob' them. No need for a wire.

The excess solder (should you want to reverse this) can be easily removed by sucker or wick.

Bump...

Any other folks do this mod with good results?  And there was at least one report of MyDos not working properly.  Anyone else find this to be the case?  I can't understand why if the mod was successful, MyDos would have issues, assuming that the partition, etc. was properly set up.

I dont think I have this done in my machine with incognito. I got my incog around 2018 - Followed the instructions.. I see this was found much earlier, but not sure the instructions were updated.

I am currently having issues with the Express!Cart.. so this might be an issue I have as well.

You say My_IDE Onlly. So this update to the MYIDE_2 will not work ? only the MyIDE .

MyIDE_only is a term I gave to my code.
It means that the IRQ-routines (disk-IO) of the resident OS is patched to support MyIDE (any version), instead of installing a complete (soft) OS.
All code needed to do this is stored in the SRAM of the MyIDE-cartridge.
Making it compatible with software that uses RAM at $C000+ and other BIOS specific entries.
