I think this might be a Galaxian Proto..Tell me what you think

The Shell looks like a typical early case. The board Ive seen a few with that color board I think my collection houses a few of them. The reason I shy away from a prototype is because:

It doesnt have a window that would be used to erase the eeprom and to reuse the rom chip.

The fact that the chip is soldered to the board and not the type of setup that chips can be plugged in and pulled out easily. ( I have a pilot cart that has one of these chip quick disconnect setups). Still wouldnt say its a proto but would make it more realistic to be one if the programmers can plug and go with chips on the fly.

I like UZs idea of it being a review copy. That makes the most sense. Since it appears from the chip that its a final version not something that will be erased and reprogrammed. The chip setup backs up the idea of a final copy . I could be off but Im sure if Matt weighs in we can get a more definite answer

I would love for it to be a proto, but after all the discussion I am now leaning towards the ' dealer copy ' idea. But the table is still open...thanks everybody! All comments welcomed.

It's not a prototype, it has a production chip in it not an eprom.

Unusual looking board, all of the Atari brand cart I took apart was always green. But that is a mask ROM so the ROM chip is probably not proto. Maybe a review sample? The board shows date indicating 22nd week of '83

Same here. its interesting.
