Microsoft releases new smaller XBox360

I can't get another although it's always tempting, I just don't like the looks of this one. I have my original white I got on launch week way back but it was repaired by MS at one point for RROD. I still don't want to ever get rid of it. It doesn't have HDMI and seldom gets used. My Star Wars one is my favorite. I have a Call of Duty model and 4 faceplates I switch between two of the units.

I have 4 original modded Xbox's I did myself (one of them was done by Mark).

I custom painted the buttons on one of the units and am thinking of painting the shell. Fun stuff.

One of the key selling points of this new unit is that it doesn't take up much room in your submarine.

Have you guys ever seen the living quarters of a submarine!!? Teeny, tiny.

Man this is going to be a HUGE seller I know it!!

Aw, no curves? I love curves! :D But yeah, this is a good idea, I suppose. I have my Xbox 360 that my wife gave me still, and no RROD's at all on the unit. I think she's sexy...not sure why they lost the curves, though. :( Oh yeah, wait....it's a "smaller" version with no curves. My bad. To throw in two cents here, the Kinect thing (packaged bundle during Christmas of last year) was a good idea I think, but my wife and I never really use it. I'm all about the other games (shooters, big explosions, classic Genesis titles), and not jumping around the living room in a boat. Probably would do me a world of good to start jumping around a bit...

Are the newer revisions still BW compatible to the Xbox 1?

Any Xbox 360 with a hard drive is "backwards compatible" with select Xbox Classic system games. There are two versions of this newest slim. One only has a 4GB flash drive and the other SKU has a 250GB hard drive. 360s which only have a flash drive are not backwards compatible.

As I have said before, nothing wrong with the aesthetics of the Xbox one. The new 360 has got massive vents on the top which should keep the console nice and cool. This is the new 360 console the PR guy was talking about, for all those people who don't have online. Hopefully they still include option for an external hard drive. At the very least I'm assuming it's still online capable unlike the Wii mini. :P

I prefer this over either previous design. Next week, I'm taking stock of which Xbox games I want to keep for the long haul. I'd be very interested in trading my rrod-prone unit for one of these. OTOH, I don't feel like giving MS any money right now.

Thanks for the info. I'd like to get on board the current gen and if the 4GB isn't too gimped I'm just going to go for that. Hard to justify $300 for a seven year old console (whatever happened to the $99 console?).

I would assume yes, they will, but probably not until the One is launched. My question is how much longer will they continue to produce 360 games? And another question, since I'm on a roll: About how many 360 games are there in the wild?

Oh, wow. :-o Guess I won't have to worry about "not having enough games for it" when it goes the way of the other consoles. Then again...maybe that won't happen and Microsoft will "fall back" on it. Anyone have any theories to how long the big "M" will support the 360?
