+McCallister
Been getting into homebrews fairly recently and realized I'd missed most of the history of the homebrew scene. I should say, a 4-player, non-paddle game?

Crazy Climber
Not to my knowledge. The only 4 player game I can recall is Medieval Mayhem and it's paddles.
alex_79
It can't be done. The SVAII/2800, just like the standard 2600, can only support 2 joystick or 4 paddle controllers. The additional ports are just to use the paddle incorporated in the combo controllers that came with the console, because they aren't wired in pair like standard ones. +McCallister
Ummm... I don't know. Should you say? I thought so, as I was not asking permission with my usage, but instead expressing a correct action for myself. Did I miss the boat on this usage? If so, please let me know, as I am not always up to date with grammar rules.

Is there a way to use the extra ports for joysticks? Perhaps a programming trick?
+Gemintronic
The good news is that batari BASIC supports all four paddles. Homebrew for the paddles could be very easily made, then! Super Smashed Bros?
alex_79
Is there a way to use the extra ports for joysticks? Perhaps a programming trick? Nope, there aren't additional input lines on the SVAII/2800, just the usual 10 digital inputs and 4 analogue ones with the only difference that, if you select paddle mode using the switch on the console, they are rearranged across the 4 ports to make use of the special controllers which have a different pinout (only one paddle line per controller and action button on a different pin) The possibility to have more than two joystick on the 2600 was discussed in the forums and it's indeed possible but it requires external hardware.
