RSS Bot
OK, I think tomorrow I'll work on some arena designing, beginning with Gi-Ant's, which is near anthills. Up to now, they have been fighting in Rumblebee's arena, even though the bee hasn't been designed yet. Behe-moth, which is now in the game, his arena will be on a porch eave. I think this is easier than my other fighting game I came up with when I was a kid. I called it "Super Highway Fighter." I have a few issues of "Christendo Power," which is full of fake games I designed (ironically, about the same time the Virtual Boy came out.) I also made parodies of those Nintendo Power trading cards that came in each issue of Nintendo Power with titles like "Super Mario Fart" and "Star Box." Well, enough of that, since that VB I bought at the flea market came with a copy of Mario's Tennis, I now have two extra copies. What I want to do is, when the game is finished, hold a label design contest. The winner will get a free copy of Insecticide. I will be the other guy that gets a copy with the label I choose to win. No dorky US label with just the title with the same old background, please. Put some thought into it. I'd like to say the game might be finished by Holiday 2013, or as late as the Virtual Boy's 20th anniversary: August 2015. Whenever it is finished, I will be proud, even though it right now has a 5.5 rating out of 10 on Planet VB. One of the difficulties I foresee is programming enemy AI. Deciding when the computer attacks or blocks, that kind of stuff. The one drawback is that the Virtual Boy has no random number generator. Looking at the Virtual Boy library, there are very few games that use random numbers. They all seem to be fixed courses and stuff. The games that seem to use the most random numbers are V-Tetris and 3D Tetris (for the random tetrad generating.) http://atariage.com/forums/blog/168/entry-10336-insecticide-792013/
