Jack Burton
I purchased a 2600 "darth vader" console recently. Everything works on it, except the screen rolls rapidly. I've tried the following: -cleaned my carts -changed channel to both 2 and 3. -tried various televisions -replaced the tv<>computer switch with a phono>f-connector adapter -connected to a tv with a vertical hold adjustment -adjusted the two adjustable pots on the motherboard inside the system Nothing seems to have had any effect. I assume there is a bad capacitor or transistor somewhere that is preventing me from getting proper vertical sync, but I've looked at the board and I don't see any bad cap or weak solder joints. Any ideas? Is there a cap related to v-sync?

Any ideas? Is there a cap related to v-sync? Did you ever figure this out? I have almost the exact same issue on a Vader 2600A. I cleaned all contacts and rechecked the solder joints. My 2200 uf capacitor has a small crack in it - could that be causing the issue? My screen looks like this:
dwmcqueen
It is the TIA chip. I swapped mine and all is good.
