TI Related -- Ebay / Heads Up Notice

Omega-TI

Yes, and if you have selected the US-address defined as your standard delivery-address, normally you can bid on these US-only-auctions. Normally.

So, IF you CAN bid, this should be fine for the deal, and for the seller, and should be legal.

The only reason I can imagine here might be a low price (but I don´t know about the auction)

Obviously, this was not fair.....

After thinking about this a bit, I don't think You can do anything about this. The seller has probably had goods broken or stolen on their way

overseas before, and irrespective of whether He is shipping to the USA or not, once He is aware that his stuff is heading overseas, He won't take

the risk as Ebay seems to make the seller refund if You don't get the goods or they are broken, then He has to chase the shipping company for

a refund. Please correct me if I am wrong about that.

You could try logging into Ebay USA instead of EBay Germany to make the purchase and set the delivery address as one of Your friends places, not

a US international shipping company.

I have had mostly good luck with purchases from USA, just one Vader model Atari 2600 had a broken case, but it was such a clean break I glued it and You cannot

even tell without a magnifying glass. The seller didn't pack it well enough which I mentioned in my comments but not worth complaining about in this case.

....

In this case here, there was an US-address listed from the german buyer, so there was no need for the seller to ship overseas.

We seriously need some moderator input to stop all this unfounded b****bear hating!!!!! :-D

I know, old post again, but have something pertinent to add, so here goes...

I have bought from buddybear99 several times.

I too get frustrated when Charles posts disk copies of software and calls it *rare* (here let me burn another dozen *rare* disks), or when he lists a cart, but fails to mention that the manual listed is just a copy (although he has been good lately about stating that up front). His prices are all over the map....sometimes jaw-droppingly inexpensive (got a complete in box Adventure off of him for 6.99! and his shipping fees are always very low - to Canada at least) and other times insanely expensive (some of his disks sell for over $40 - when, let's be honest, they should be free since anyone can download these in .dsk or TIDisk format)

BUT (and that's a huge but)...

2 months ago my 32k card died. The project I was working on used the text-to-speech disk, so without a 32K card I was dead in the water.

I sent out emails to the usual suspect of TI 'suppliers' whom I have come to trust. No one had a card, or those who did were asking way too much for me at the time. Then I contacted Charles...

He sold me a card dirt cheap, and sent it to me ExpressPost. It arrived at my door in 3 days.

But that's not the really impressive part of the story. When it arrived, he had still not yet quoted me a price + shipping. He shipped it before I had paid, and when I emailed him about it, he simply said; "Yes, I shipped it already. You sounded like you needed it. No problem".

Now, of course I fired him off the payment within minutes, but to this day I can't believe he did that...and the card (one of the sexy brushed aluminium shells not one with the beige shell I was replacing) plus shipping came to $50 (I paid more for the now-dead card before shipping!)

So yes, there ARE all kinds of reasons to comment on some of the buddybear99 listings, but he will always remain among my favorite and most trusted ebayers. (although yes, I DO wish he wouldn't flood the TI listings with copies)

btw, if anyone wants the dead card (not sure how serviceable they are) it's yours for shipping.

Who won the Triple Tech Card from MDUDE? It went for over $300 which is shocking and was kind of expected due to all the interest. You figure the CorComp Floppy Controller goes for $200 plus by itself.

My money is on Schmitzi LOL

Yes, I am also dreaming of the controller, but I worry it may be too expensive.

If you do in fact win it, the MG Upgrade Kit would be a nice addition. I have one on the way and Rob shipped it immediately after payment was sent and most likely has more in stock.

I can do this.... maybe? lol just tell me what all that means I am happy to run this test :)

Check the thread entitled "Insane?... yes"

or something if the like. You'll need a high volume line printer, preferably one that does 300 lines or better per minute.

We can write a program that spools directly to the PIO... We can also feed 60k of text directly into the buffer and send it from there.

My initial curiosity was whether or not the buffer could run faster than a direct PIO output from XB and AL, also if the TI could maintain a 300 lines per minute speed. We know we can write to the port faster than that, but how fast will the PIO port run?

If someone on here wins the auction for this card, be sure to download...

<< GAZOO'S FANTASTIC CLOCK SET PROGRAM >>

post-35324-0-74258000-1429338431_thumb.j

It's an E/A5 program would have been great 'back in the day'. It's only been available for about a month and a half now, you'll love it!

Does BOOT go all crazy when you run Rasmus' PALEA5 color fix? Is this the definitive version of BOOT or is the one on the FTP site 'better' ?

You must be running the 1.6 version of the F18A with an earlier version of PALEA5. ;)

The program has already been fixed, you just need to get the newer version. In fact, Rasmus already replaced it in a previous thread where it's available for download. That was discovered during the BETA testing.

If you can't find it, let me know in a PM and I'll send you a copy of mine after I get home from work tonight.

** EDIT ** Why search for it? I've attached a copy here in a ZIP file.

Thank you! The version I had I downloaded directly from heatwave. (I love just being able to log onto the TI and download files and run them without the use of the PC, thank you for this heatwave!!!!) If I think of it next time I am on I will drop Kyle a message :)

Just an eBay question in general: do people really not understand how disgusting this is? I mean, if I wanted to spend some time I could pick up a system I have wanted for a while for a relatively good price. But this is friggen gross! I always feel bad about posting ugly items and I spend time cleaning before I put an item up for sale.
