This would be a nice addition for a collector.  Price seems steep, but then again I do not know how hard these are to find:

https://www.ebay.com...ity!43015!US!-1

I bought this modem... Merry Christmas to me!  I too thought it was steep, but 1984 Me demanded we finally have one.  Does anyone have the specs on this thing?  Specifically, the DC power requirement? It came with everything except the box and power adapter.  I'm guessing by the barrel jack for power, that there's a transformer brick at the other end of that cable, but the manual does not give a voltage.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  (And yes, I'm now trolling ebay for a Bell/Western Electric model 2500 to go with it!)

Caveat emptor - Just because the eBay seller is listed as a "US Seller" doesn't mean that they offer a decent product. The last two purchases that I made were listed as such and, in both cases, the merchandise was sourced from China and defective. The first was a lot of computer chips and the second was a high-capacity flash drive. Be careful. There are a lot of counterfeit Chinese products flooding the market.

I've purchased a lot of stuff on ebay, but there are two things I'll never purchase off of eBay (again) regardless of seller.  The first, any, larger over 64GB USB memory stick or SD card and battery packs for things like yard or power tools.

I have need for a spare keyboard for my 2nd console, which has been without one since the 90's.  (My older brother had a penchant for disassembling things to see how they work, but he didn't always get around to re-assembling them.  My console was one of his victims, with the keyboard no where to found.)

Found this listing tonight:  Vintage Texas Instruments 99/4a computer video game console replacement keyboard

The listed price is far too high for my taste, but I see it does allow for 'Make an Offer' and free returns.  Any thoughts how much I should offer and whether or not it seems worthwhile?

Almost worth picking up a cheap console for use or parts.

If it's just a broken cable, Arcadeshopper can save you a lot of trouble and drama with his replacement keyboard cables.  Those OEM cables are brittle as heck, and many of us have had them break when installing things in our TI's.  His cables are neat because they come with an additional strip that solders onto the keyboard for easy maintenance over the next few decades.

I was going post the link, but I could not find them, but here is a photo.  What would we do without Arcadeshopper?

Yeah, I made him an offer ($25), and he accepted.

Ah, if only it were the cable.  I'm actually missing the entire keyboard. (My older brother cannibalized the console years ago and absconded with the keyboard for some other project.)

The funny part is the ROM is actual covered by an epoxy blob - it's one of those CoB (chip on board) deals, like they used in LCD games and such.

I low-balled it.  I doubt I'll get it, but if I do, expect three of these to show up at Fest West $3.15 each. (Since it's a lot of 4)
