ti-99/4, no a, buy it now for $75

https://www.ebay.ca/...er/123661334361

It was gone when I looked just 30 minutes after.

I would have snapped it up to substitute for a dented 99/4 (my second best one). I paid $250 for one in good newish condition many years ago.

Hmm... a zero feedback seller who, when you click on the feedback score, shows as being in Mexico. Hope whoever bought it actually gets it.

Not at the price that he is asking. A couple of those carts have some value such as the Red Baron and etc. but nothing close to the $250 price tag that he has.

I sure dont but the price is in the Eye of the Beholder :)

Red Baron - $50

Desktop Publisher - $25

Wordwriter - $25

Mini memory - $20

Multiplication - $20

The others are all $3 - $5 carts

Wordwriter Extra would be worth more if it had the label but with it missing its not worth much

The CorComp PIO Plus is there too. I'd give $40 for that one right now.

Time for Ksarul to break out the rare prototype CD-ROM card.

Mainly just curious... Would a CD-ROM work with the IDE card?

CD-ROM works with the SCSI-controllers.

i.e. there is the CD-Commander from Wolfgang Bertsch from the TI Club Errorfree Germany

http://www.errorfree.de/Menu08.html

the ´CD-Commander 1.4´ needs some 80-Col-Hardware,

the ´CD-Manager 1.1´ works with the stock console

I've used the CD-Commander software in the past. It works quite well. I need to get another SCSI CD-ROM drive at some point, as the one I used died several years ago. . .

At this moment, I am a happy SCSI starter here on TI99 and Geneve :)

(and I am an almost unaware Geneve starter here and as well)

So I was jumping to the basement 20 times a day now, to search für some adapting stuff and so :)

But I have these boxes in the garage, with all that old stuff I saved from my old office :lust:

Electrically, it should. But more software needs to be written to talk to it, as CDROMs don't use the same commands as hard drives.

With the advent of huge SD cards, USB memory sticks, multiple terabyte sized hard drives, and so much stuff downloadable direct from manufactures on the Internet, as well as other data, I have to wonder how much CD-ROM's are actually used anymore.

I still have about 1.200 old Software-CD-ROMs, and at least the same in Audio-CDs. (all ripped)

I do not use them very often, but I like to have them, and to know that I can use them, if I want to.

Regarding the "direct downloadable stuff", after round about 10-15 years, allthis stuff will have gone.

Watch out for so many old TI-99-homepages, and all these links, all this things that have gone, and end up in "Error 404" today.

That´s why I never rely on online available resources, and download and save all things that I want or need.

(...and why I sometimes download & save whole servers today)

I have to agree with you 100% in regards to the "Direct Downloadable Stuff."

Because of that reason I downloaded the complete http://ftp.whtech.com/ site for the TI-99 stuff just in case something ever happenned. I think at the time I downloaded it, it was like 40GB+

It's probably bigger now.

Yuppers. If you can read a Zip drive on it it is possible it will work with a CD-ROM as both use ATAPI. The difference will be whether you have a program to read the CD-ROM filesystem (which appears to be what CD-Commander does.)
