Atari the Jedi Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 So I have a choice to buy Vectrex next couple of days I have my choice between two different units they both look good but I wanted to know where some things that I can look at about the machine. Mom has a little bit of his radio sounding to it but both of them look pretty clean on the casing doesn't matter where they were manufactured certain serial numbers any ideas to kind a help guide me would be great:-) so I know I'm buying the better of the two any thoughts thanks. I borrowed a Vectrex from a buddy before finding one of my own and when I compared them, I noticed my buddy's Vectrex was missing some lines on the Minestorm mothership. It played just fine but that might be something to check out. Also, see what it plays like with the brightness turned all the way up. My buddy's Vectrex started to warble at high brightness levels, I think he needs it recapped. Just a few pointers from me, I'm sure others have good stuff too. When I turn the brightness up on the one you can see the vector lines and the other one you can't see any. I thought about taking a dust can and blowing out the dust I'm pretty sure is inside the machine that I will buy. Any other tips I need tips I'm going to spend good money on this I want to make sure I get the better of the two Thanks everyone :-). How do I take care and maintain a 30-year-old TV set? I'm assuming I turn it on occasionally and pot necessarily turn on and blast the speaker.
