boxpressed
What's your take on the top 10 rarest Intellivision, Inc. titles? As many of you know, I'm not talking about the INTV releases such as Spiker, Stadium Mud Buggies, or Learning Fun I/II. I'm talking about the post-Mattel re-released titles. I haven't even been able to verify the existence of CIB copies of some of them, although maybe some of you can. Here are what I see to be the contenders, and feel free to rank away: Locomotion (can't verify CIB) Tron Solar Sailor (can't verify CIB) Jetsons (can't verify existence) Melody Blaster (can't verify existence) Tennis Chess Backgammon Math Fun Mind Strike Snafu Shark! Shark! Bowling Boxing Horse Racing Buzz Bombers He-Man Mr. Basic Meets Bits 'N Bytes Super Series Big League Baseball

Eric7100
Are you talking about those white-label carts? If so, out of your list, I only have Mind Strike. I also have two versions of Pac-Man, one of them with a white label.
+JasonlikesINTV
Add Roulette, Hockey, Sea Battle, and Bump 'n Jump On Sunday, I'll make a top
+JasonlikesINTV
I'm not exactly sure if this is my final order, but starting with the rarest (and saying nothing of value) (and listing only known CIB games): 1. Super Series Big League Baseball 2. Backgammon 3. Roulette 4. Sea Battle 5. Snafu 6. Math Fun 7. Chess 8. Hockey 9. Mr Basic/Masters of the Universe (tie) 10. Bump 'n Jump/Pinball (tie) I kinda cheated by including 12 games The top 8 are definitely difficult to find (especially the top 3). Most will also command a decent price, except for maybe Sea Battle, Snafu, and Hockey. Those are sort of hidden gems that most people pass up or miss. An honorable mention goes out to Soccer, which I rarely see, but was available from Venezuela...where I got mine. Backgammon, Roulette, Math Fun, Mr Basic, MotU (and sometimes Bump 'n Jump and Chess) will all typically sell for >$30. Super Series >$300, of course. Just my two cents. By the way, if anyone has Backgammon or Roulette, I'd love to buy or make a trade 1

I've got a CIB copy of that one with a white label covering the colored one. Just like the Sears one however Backgammon continues to elude me. +intvsteve
I've been looking for parts to I.I. Backgammon and SNAFU for a loooong time. Luckily got some help recently, but still seeking a SNAFU manual. There are a couple conjectured items, too, as mentioned. I've heard of / seen pics of Tennis and Checkers manuals, but unsure of boxes. I know several here (including myself) have manuals for Tron Solar Sailer and Loco-Motion that are clearly from the I.I. era. But as you've mentioned, your list is from known CIBs. Aside from SSBLB, I have no idea of relative rarity. Haven't been watching things very closely for a long time. It seemed to me that the strategy games were tough (as the list reflects!) and gaming (aside from Royal Dealer). Initially, I sought the I.I. games for overlay variants (that was what set the hook in me for variant-seeking). Still haven't found the masked-out copyright version of Astrosmash. Eventually, of course, that spiralled into box / manual / label / ROM variants. Shudder.

+JasonlikesINTV
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I didn't know where else to post my question. I was looking through some Intellivision Inc games and noticed that my I.I. Math Fun has copyrighted Mattel overlays, despite the existence of this: I know that during the Intellivision Inc days there were lots of variations, and I assume that my copy probably originally came with copyrighted Mattel overlays that were likely part of leftover stock. Obviously at some point they switched over to the ones with the copyright removed like the one pictured above. My question (for those willing to go hunting through the pile) is how rare are the ones lacking the copyright? I recently picked up a set of them, but it's honestly the first set like this that I have come across despite seeing many copies of Intellivision Inc Math Fun over the years. TL;DR Just want to informally poll of which overlays each of you have with your Intellivision Inc Math Fun. Copyright or no?
+JasonlikesINTV
Just realized something else. The copy that I recently received came with these overlays: and this cart: All of the other copies of Intellivision Inc Math Fun I've ever had were like these: I'm sure it's no coincidence that the copyright-removed set came together. Still, I'm curious how rare they are. (All images courtesy of intvfunhouse.com)
Intellivisioner
I only have and know the copyrighted game variant. Thanks for sharing your rare find.
Muzz73
I have Bump 'n Jump, Sea Battle and Masters of the Universe off of that list. Man, when Kaybee Toys bought out Mattel's stock and liquidated it back in 1985-86, I wish I had stocked up! Regular games were $0.99, Intellivoice games were $1.99, Intellivoice modules were $10 and that funky ECS unit was $25. I was only in the 7th grade at the time, but man... I wish I had bought more of them!
freewheel
I have Bump n Jump, Pinball, and Sea Battle off those lists. One thing to keep in mind - over the years, collectors and others have mixed and matched parts to create CIB versions. Plus INTV Corp did it themselves, or so they claim - different parts got used up at different rates, so sometimes you'd have a white labelled cart with colour instructions, with god knows what overlay. So it's difficult to determine what exactly fits together "officially". My Sea Battle was boxed with Mattel instructions, but in the same collection the guy had the INTV Corp version. Which came with the box originally? A question for the ages I suppose.

FYI, the list in this thread covers some of the rarer Intellivision Inc titles. Intellivision Inc was one of the post-Mattel company names used to distribute Intellivision games. Most of the games from this era had the copyright and mention of 'Mattel' removed from the packaging. The also went with cheaper top/bottom flap boxes instead of the nicer gatefold (book style) boxes. Some of those games (the ones in the list) are rarer than others. I don't believe that any of the ones you have pictured are Intellivision Inc games. They all look to be the earlier Mattel versions. That being said you may find takers for some of them, however the poor condition and shipping from Australia will turn off some folks. A few questions to help your cause Is there any chance you could include a few more pics? There is a rare chance that the Backgammon and/or Roulette may be ones I'm looking for. A quick pic of the front of the boxes will tell. A pic of the manual fronts may help as well. Also, Melody Blaster is decently rare and if your Mind Strike is the gatefold (book style) box, it's also somewhat sought after. Tron is pretty common, but the Hong Kong version is a slight bit more rare (check the bottom flap of the box for country of origin. All in all, the shipping from Australia may be the biggest factor next to condition. Good luck and feel free to ask any additional questions. Oldmannewhobby
Happy to take a few more pics when im home again, but they do all say mattel on them. Nevermind. Im not exactly versed on the rarity, these are just my old childhood games. What do you mean by book style box? The box is the same as the standard boxes. +JasonlikesINTV
What do you mean by book style box? The box is the same as the standard boxes. The gatefolds had a front cover opens like the front cover of a book. The later games had simpler boxes where the contents could only be accessed via flaps on the top and bottom of the box. Those had a cart retention system, but the manuals/overlays just kinda flopped around inside if you weren't careful. The gatefold is basically the standard early box. Oldmannewhobby
Then it is a gatefold I guess. The only games like the others you mentioned I have are safecracker and demon attack.
