+-^CrossBow^-
Well, something isn't quite right with the GOG connect to Steam, because one of the games I do clearly own in Steam and yet GOG states it didn't find it in my steam library. I only have just one Steam account so it isn't anything like that. That game BTW is the Homeworld: Remastered collection. I own the collectors edition of the game in fact with the Higarian ship model that lights up. So I definitely own the game and can play it in Steam all the time. So it isn't quite right on its detection yet it would seem. Still very good feature and until you mentioned it, I hadn't known about it before. I also picked up Grim Fandango yesterday along with CupHead and Unreal II, but I already owned Grim Fandango through Steam when the remaster was first released. MrMaddog
What is up on the GoG Connect this go around as it's showing nothing to me. It never works right even for the few supported games. I end up buying the same games on GoG that I already had on Steam, but they're usually on sale any way so no biggie...
Tanooki
I did that for quite awhile before connect was a thing. I had picked up again quite a few games once the sale got steep enough (66 or 75%+ off.) I bought the Ys games twice among some others. I didn't mind if they were worth it just to be DRM free. JamesD
I know this is slightly stretching the topic here, but one of the advantages of PC gaming over consoles is the ability to mod games to form all new games or better versions of existing ones.Yes there are mods for console games, but I think they are far outnumbered by console games. One of the sites I visit for keeping up to date with these little gems is MOD DB, who is having a Mod of the Year Awards and this is the link to the top 100 in the running. There's still several days left for voting if you wish to participate and if you aren't familiar with some of these, you should check them out. http://www.moddb.com/groups/2017-mod-of-the-year-awards/top100

PlaysWithWolves
Like Flojomojo, I really didn't want to install yet another launcher. Yet here I am, because SuperHot is free on Twitch Prime for Amazon Prime subscribers. I always turn off "start when I start my computer" anyway, so I't only mildly annoying to install the client.
Punisher5.0
I picked up Fallout 3 GOTY edition for $10 on GOG today. That's a great price but I had to download the client to install it. It kept saying corrupted file when downloaded manually.

Twitch Prime doesn't require the client, you can do it from a web browser, too. That's what I do -- all the hoarding without any of the cruft of installers or actually playing the game. My uPlay account only exists to collect free games, as god intended. I dug out my UPlay password and redeemed it too. I like pirate games. Note that there are currently 3 free games on UPlay: Watch Dogs, World in Conflict Complete Edition, and Ass Creed 4.

I thankfully managed to get it using my phone without any issues. I'll have to lug my computer to my parents' house sometime during the holidays to redeem it, but it looks like it'll be worth it.

Flojomojo
PUBG is out of early access. Personally, I'm going to make do with "Rules of Survival" on mobile, because it's free instead of thirty bucks.
Flojomojo
oh, and if you don't have X-Wing, it's $2.29 and comes with three different versions (DOS floppy, DOS CD, Win95 CD) and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It also includes the awesome strategy guide, which is a little novella, too. https://www.gog.com/game/star_wars_xwing_special_edition and if you still don't want it, there's no reasoning with you
Tanooki
I bought that and the TIE one too back when it arrived. If you consider yourself a game player and a star wars fan, those 2 games and their expansions still are the best of the best with space combat mission based star wars stuff, even the later XW vs TIE and Alliance has problems making them fail to meet the same level of quality play.

+-^CrossBow^-
It's $3.99 for me I concur...shows 3.99 for me as well. Maybe if you buy the complete bundle it comes to 2.29 for just x-wing?
Flojomojo
It must be a bundle thing. It's $2.29 for me but I have t already. Tell you what, first person to PM me an email address gets it as a gift.
NE146
I was tempted.. but then it said I already owned it. Turns out I have bunches of games there at GOG I've never played. But that's PC gaming for me.
