Damn. I'm surprised we don't have a dedicated Steam Sale thread.

Oh well, I wanted some advice on my Steam Cart as it stands right now. Here's what I've got:

rmMlANq.png

Some of these are just highly recommended. Some I feel a need to explain:

Adventure in the Tower of Flight - this game was supposed to be on the Retro VGS so I want to try it out.

Skipchaser - incredibly cool aesthetics, but the combat seems a little primitive. Anyone have any thoughts?

Spaceman Sparkles 2/3D - just found out about these, 2 is in 2D and the sequel is in 3D but is otherwise pretty much the same game. Looks and sounds amazing.

Diary of a Spaceport Janitor - I heard a lot about this game when it was new. From what I gather it's like you're an NPC in a Futurama episode where they go to a random spaceport, if Futurama was on PS1.

My Summer Car - I've wanted to play this sooooo bad but it's never on sale. This is a lousy sale but better than nothing.

Skytime - I hear this game is a glitchy mess but it seems to have a cool time mechanic and is super cheap.

LOVE - I met the creator at PAX, I promised I'd buy his game.

The Novelist - been wanting to try this game, you play as a ghost that inhabits the home of a novelist and you get to interact with his family and influence their lives.

Go ahead and R8, H8 or B8, M8. I'd also like to know if anyone has found any lesser known games at good discounts.

For the week if you buy ANTYHING at GoG.com you get a free copy of Double Dragon Trilogy for download, a 5.99 savings.

Sadly I can't find one game I would pay for on my wishlist that makes it worth it.  I mean I could grab one of those Neptunia games, but it seems wasteful since I have yet to play the first.

This is more mainstream than SD&R's choices, but TotalBiscuit has his picks for top-20 games under $5 during the Steam Summer Sale.  Game list/time stamps in the video's description:

Not a bad idea.  I wonder if there are others around that level currently I'd have a sliver of a chance of wanting to bother with. :)

GoG was giving away that Jotun game for free too, not sure if that expired today and then opened up on Steam though.

The new Doom should be in everyone's library. Plus they just released all the multiplayer DLC for free. I haven't played the multiplayer, but heard they improved it.

Fallout 4 is fun but I'm still not happy with their design choices. It's obviously a must play too, but New Vegas is still my favorite.

Big price cut deal for the big update to NO MANS SKY on PC.  60% off on GoG.com  ($23.99 from $60.) https://www.gog.com/game/no_mans_sky

Why?  Atlas Rises major update.

So what's cool about Atlas Rises?

New Story Mode – in a complete overhaul to the original story, you'll set off on a 20-hour journey across the universe and discover Portals, allowing you to travel vast distances extremely quickly.

Improved Trading – plot and optimize your trade routes in the new trading metagame, born thanks to unique socio-economic traits in each star system and an overhauled galactic map.

Missions and New Faction System – procedurally generated missions add a layer of replayability as you earn rewards and respect on your journeys.

Ghost Multiplayer – encounter and interact with real-life travelers, discover their story and their mystery.

Better Biomes – from rare, extreme and abstract biomes, through improved existing biomes, there's a lot more to see on your journey.

More, including improved space combat, terraforming, farming, as well as new ships, a new faction, and more.

I've held off buying this game until there was a drop to bring it down to what they had been clearing the PS4 release for more or less ($20-30) and it falls in that range.  Plus I knew some kind of big update was coming to fix a lot of complaints and add meat to the game, this seems meaty from that list of stuff.  Hopefully someone can go back into this or try it with a fresh pair of eyes given all the somewhat unfair criticism the game got and give it a go.

If you click into the discussion forums members made a Pinata thread and in there is an entire list they've figured out through lots of random pinata busting on what you can get.

Of everything on there so far 3 of like 100 things I'd want so there's no way I'm pissing $3/ea to get that lucky. :)
