The second game in the series that features all the excitement of the original. An interesting vertical shooter. Fight various types of enemies mechs, demons and odd mecanical devices on your way to destroy the demon located at the end of the final level.

Yep, anyone who has played Strikers 1945 would immediately notice all the similarities these two games share. Same projectiles, same bonus structure, same wild bullet patterns, same random board selection for the first 4 boards.

 

One cool difference is the addition of a power meter that slowly builds up on Gunbird 2.

 

While I prefer playing Strikers, I still find Gunbird to be a very fun and challenging shooter.

I like how the bonus items on the ground oscillate the point value from as low as 200 points to as high as 2000 points. The idea is to capture the item just a split second after the item is at its brightest. It is fun dodging bullets while watching the bonus items and trying to capture them at their shiniest point.
