Bartsfam
This guy is obnoxious with his stupid comments, but check out at about 4:57 of this video. It is a video of an abandoned theme park with arcade at Joyland in Wichita, Kansas. Why couldn't the owners of the park, take some items with them when they closed? It looks like, one day, everyone just decided to not come to work, and closed the doors, one step ahead of the bill collectors and the law. Imagine how some collector would have loved to restore these old machines. Remember, if the rest bores you..check out 4:57. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKijJrTY1xs Edited December 1, 2013 by Bartsfam
[d2f]Iggy*SJB
Oh, man..... you could have warned us that they had been........... assaulted......... like that. Seeing things like that make me sick to the stomach, and I'm not the squeamish type.
ProperRogue
This guy is obnoxious with his stupid comments, but check out at about 4:57 of this video. Awwww come on man, Adam's not so bad!! He has a pretty huge following, including me. Hell, come to think of it... I've been watching his videos for years, and they never get old. Always something new and crazy from the Woo! It's a real shame though to see some of these places in such disrepair, abandoned and left to rot away.

jhd
I'm surprised that those games (and the rest of the facilities) were just adandoned. I would have expected that the (former) owner would have sold everything movable and/or it would have been seized by creditors. Does that Joust control panel look salvagable to anyone else? I got to explore a long vacant house once -- my Father's business bought it at a tax auction -- and there was virtually nothing left inside. We did strip out the copper pipe and plumbing fixtures before the building was torn-down.
Gregory DG
So... I wanted to resurrect this thread because it's the one that introduced me to Adam The Woo... And well... I got to tour him around my town the other day. Thought I'd share! And then in the next video, he's wearing a Flynn's Arcade shirt... Hmmm... Wonder where he got that? simbalion
Chippewa Lake Park here in Ohio stood abandoned with most of the rides standing for roughly 30 years before a developer bought it. Actually, I think that venture failed as well. The arcade machines there got lucky and were sold off after the park closed at least. I do remember seeing the pictures of the burnt arcade before it was torn down though. It's amazing what people and businesses just up and abandon in this country.

It looked like it fared quite well (especially compared to the other ones). It really should be hauled out of there and given some care.
