Fletch
After a very long hiatus, I have reacquired a Falcon. Searching through my old disks I found my copy of Extendos and was able to hook up an old Apple CD600 to the Falcon. I burned some files on my Mac in ISO9660 format and the Falcon was able to recognize the disk. The only issue I am having is when I try to pull a folder of files off of the CD to the hard drive, the Falcon throws up an illegal operation error and won't copy a thing. However, if I open the folder on the CD I can then drag the individual files to the hard drive with no issues. Any suggestions as to why I cannot copy the whole folder? Zogging Hell
Long file names? Standard TOS hates them, and it can cause disk corruption issues. I suspect that is probably your problem. When you are viewing them under TOS it ignores the bits of file name outside the standard 8.3 format, although this may cause issues further down the line. Magic or MultiTOS (or any replacement operating system will be able to read the disk correctly, but you will probably still have problems in single TOS. Good thought, all of the files are in 8.3 format. MacOS does have a nasty habit of inserting hidden files so maybe that is causing something. I'll try to burn a disk on a PC and see if there is a change. Thanks for the tip.
Zogging Hell
The other thing to look out for might be 'illegal' characters (like * etc), there are a few that can be used in Mac OS that I don't think can be used in TOS.
